John listened quietly to Adrian. He would usually protest immediately and not let anything get through his thick skull. His duty was to protect those around him, not get them into harms way. However, at the mention of half the people in the school being able to kill him... and Adrian... that seemed to get through his thick skull. His expression softened, and a laugh escaped his lips. It was somewhat odd, as they had gone from a serious, somewhat depressing mood to a .... well, somewhat comedic and lightened atmosphere. "You're right... Hell, you've got your sylphs and.. I've got my ...whatever it is. We'll be fine. There are more dangers in this world than.. either of us can imagine but... that was one of the things I swore on the day my family was murdered. That I would protect everyone that I could, and that now includes you."
With that, John had playfully nudged Adrian's shoulder with his hand, almost like punching his shoulder lightly. A grin had slipped upon John's lips once more. It was great finally being able to share about his past, even though he... he thought he would always keep it secret. He felt, though, that he could.... trust in Adrian. Something he hadn't felt he could do in a while. He wasn't just flirting with Adrian anymore, there was... there was something more to this. As to what exactly that something more was... he wasn't sure yet. He was liking where it was going, though. He was liking it... a lot.

Adrian laughed as John said he would protect him, and when he felt John push him ever so lightly he just shook his head. It seemed that John had a bit of a god complex... or at least he thought he could do so much more than any mortal man... which was reasonable, seeing as he was an immortal. Still, Adrian thought it was somewhere between heroic and idiotic. At the same time it was charming... especially when he had been included in John’s apparent duty. ”Says the immortal...” He rolled his eyes, teasing John ”Just because you seem to have trouble keeping yourself alive for a whole day, doesn’t mean the rest of us do.” The entirely condescending comment was only magnified by his cheeky grin... and it probably didn’t help when he reached up to pat John lightly on the cheek.

John had laughed, not having had this much fun in a while. Just because he had trouble staying alive for a whole day? He had stayed alive today just fine! "Hey now, I have stayed alive today just fine. No accidents, no nothing! That day at the science lab was just an accident and one that hardly happens.... hardly." Thanks to his ... not paying attention or doing anything when he should be... paying attention and doing things.
Feeling Adrian's hand upon his cheek made his cheeks go slightly red, putting his hands in his pockets and turning his head a bit to look up at the sky. That would hopefully hide the light blush on his cheeks. Wow, he hadn't blushed in a while... Adrian was good! "But I think we might have to call it a night, eh kid? Not that.. you're a kid.. or.. anything... you're a man. Ah.. I just ruined this didn't I? "

Adrian just laughed at John, Thats right because realatively... I am totally older than you. Well, relative to our lifespans anyway. We could thing of this in two ways. One, is that your life ended last night and began again, that makes you about a day old. Two, is that your life will stretch on longer than mine, even if you die at a natural age, the chances of me reaching the same fate are slim, so therefore I have progressed further along my lifespan than you have.
Adrian grinned and continued along that line of thought, not wanting to leave so soon...”From now on you will refer to me as sir, you will address me as your elder, and treat me with the respect befitting your superior... now kneel before me and worship my almighty presence. The last bit might have been a bit too much, but hey... he was entertained, and he fully enjoyed the mockery of John... and even a little bit of himself.

John had laughed, placing both of his hands onto his hips as he turned and listened to Adrian's line of thought. Technically, in the terms that Adrian was speaking, he was older and John himself younger. Especially if they went off of the him dying and coming back and then being only a day old. Deciding to play a long for a moment, John had knelt down and placed his hands on the ground, bowing to Adrian.
"Oh mighty Adrian, how might I serve you... oh wait a second. I'm only a day old I shouldn't even be able to talk yet huh?" Letting out another laugh, he sat up straight on his knees looking up to Adrian, who was still grinning. Crossing his arms over his chest, John tried to find a way to retaliate. "Well, even so I do have more knowledge than you. Even if I did die yesterday and come back... I still have more knowledge which in turn makes me smarter and a better elder."

Adrian raised an eyebrow, ”Oh yeah? You wan’t to bet your knowledge against that of the elements? At my fingertips I have access to one of the greatest reservoirs of knowledge in the world. The air itself bends to my will, bringing me news from anywhere I wish. The sylphs attend to me as I wish, providing me with knowledge beyond your puny mortal understanding.” Adrian was going for all out superiority, even if he wasn’t really speaking a word of truth. Trying to get information out of a sylph was difficult at best.
The sylphs, apparently not ignoring him as he had thought, didn’t appreciate being referred to as if they were at his beck and call. They made their distaste clear as they sent their winds to torment him. Tearing at his clothing and whipping about his hair. They had a temper, and they made it clear they were no one’s lap dogs as they picked up their pace and created something that resembled a miniature tornado.
While at first the winds made him laugh, like they were a puppy that wanted attention... but as they picked up, Adrian showed a little worry. They weren’t human... and they didn’t quite understand the effects of their actions.

John began to laugh but his laugh had quickly ended as he saw a miniature tornado start to swirl around both him and Adrian. He grit his teeth slightly, quickly standing up and wrapping an arm around Adrian in a rather protective way. "Hold on to me." Turning his attention back to the wind, he squinted as he began to try and talk to the sylphs. Well, he was hoping this was the sylphs. It seemed like it had to be... and from what Adrian had told him before, with what little knowledge he knew, he knew they were mischievous but they might also get easily angered. "Hey, Listen! Whatever Adrian said to offend you, if this is the sylphs, I'm sure he didn't mean to offend you! He doesn't mean any harm, and this wind could really hurt the both of us! "
Hopefully this might work...

Adrian almost laughed at the absurdity of the situation. Despite his fear of the sylphs... but them actually doing any real damage was doubtful. They were just feeling scorned and lashing out. So when the sylphs focused on John, even as Adrian obligingly clung to him, he couldn’t help but smile... which only upset the jealous creatures more. As the Sylphs tore at John though, his good humor evaporated quickly.
He did what he almost always did in situations that were even a little dangerous. "I'm going to call on some help... but the Undines need a source of water to hear my need." He reached up to his neck even as he pressed himself against Johns chest, and pulled the stopper off of a small vial of water. An Undine gracefully drew herself up from the container and took hold of her surroundings, leaving the vial and taking its liquid with her to sustain her mass she soaked Adrians and Johns shirts for a few seconds then took the water with her. She herself wasn’t all that powerfull, but the soothing effect of water was something that worked in her favour, the ferocity of the sylphs did not immediately lessen, but as more Undines appeared seemingly from nowhere, the sylphs slowed their winds and circled the pair slowly... well at least slower than they had been. Adrian who had experienced this before, sighed both in relief and resignation. ”I suggest we hurry lest the Undines feel I need a protective detail... their power grows around me and im sure they could bully the wind into helping them with clouds...” Even as he said this, it began to drizzle, and by the time he finished cursing it was falling steadily...
Normally he loved the rain... but at the moment it was ruining his evening ”These guys are going to follow me untill I get indoors... I know you said you had to go... so once you get about 10 feet away you can avoid my localized rainstorm.” He sounded glum as he said it, and pulled his jacket –surprisingly it had no hood- over his head to shed off most of the rain. ”Sorry it had to end like this... I ruined the night..." He went to stand a little ways away from John, and the miniature incredibly low hanging storm clouds followed him, leaving the man on the other side of a curtain of rain. "I guess I'll talk to you later"
Later he would have to make amends to the Sylphs for upsetting them and for calling the Undines to deal with them. When he was done that he would have to give some sort of tribute to the Undines for helping him... and for providing this oh so inconvenient escort.

John winced slightly as the wind, feeling his clothing and his oh so good looking hair being whipped every which way. He could barley hear Adrian speak as he took a vial from around his neck, and suddenly he himself was drenched with water. His expression was blank for a moment, staring at Adrian. How on earth would water help them?! Now with the wind and water, he was freezing! But... there was a certain.. warmth... with Adrian next to him.
Just as quickly as the wind had came, it had slowed just the same. Letting out a light laugh, John took his arm from around Adrian. "Protective detail..? I thought that was my job.." He was cut off, though, as rain began to pour down upon the two. "... I guess not."
Watching Adrian begin to walk away, and the clouds following, John only shook his head. He took his heavy jacket from around his shoulders, running over next to Adrian and draping the jacket over his head, to help keep him dry. Of course this meant he would get soaked, but ... well he didn't mind at the moment. His jacket was a heavy type fabric which helped keep water from seeping through. Most of the time. "I don't think this night was ruined. I think this... was actually kind of fun." He let out a laugh. "What better way to end the evening than with a crisp, refreshing rain huh?"

Adrian brightened as John followed him over through the rain a. Feeling, if not protected... then comforted. Because overall, the Sylphs weren’t about to let him escape dry, they subtly guided the water around the proffered jacket and soaked Adrian all the more. He didn’t mention it though, the gesture was sweet... and normally probably very effective, but with Adrian the weather either cooperated... or it didn’t... sometimes just standing on a roof was dangerous.
The rain -for all intensive purposes- was beautiful. It just happened that the rain was... for some reason exceptionally cold. In response to Johns statement Adrian responded with a sigh ”A clear evening with a warm summer breeze at our backs?” Not that the Sylphs were ever so obliging... they preferred brisk chill or arid heat, at least the more active ones around him did. Though here there was too much moisture for arid... so humid was in style.
Cold rain and all, he still felt a warm glow of pleasure at John’s courtesy. The coat was sweet, but all Adrian could manage was a stuttered, ”Th-thanks.” muttered almost too quiet to be heard. The stutter was partially out of natural timidity at the situation, and partially because his teeth were chattering with the cold.

"I suppose a clear evening with.. a warm breeze might be nice... but this isn't so bad." Hearing Adrian stutter, though, and feeling his own goosebumps upon his arms, he stopped trying to protect Adrian from the rain. He needed warmth, so John had wrapped the jacket around Adrian, and on top of that, wrapped his own arm around him. At least this way he wouldn't be as soaked, and would get some warmth. "You're welcome. When you get home why don't you get into some warm clothes and drink something hot, like tea or something. I mean.. I make an awesome cup of tea..... I think."
Thinking about it, really all John had ever made was.... coffee. His coffee usually sucked too. So hot water or coffee was usually what he had. Thinking about this night ending was kind of upsetting him, but he knew it had to end eventually. It wasn't like... the two of them were an item, where they? Besides items weren't together all the time. Where they? Gah he didn't know anymore...

Adrian grinned when John suggested Tea, ”That bitter stuff? Have you learned nothing from our time at the coffee shop? Only sugar filled goodness will do... cider, Apple cider would be good with me, with some cinnamon sticks and cloves thrown in for flavour.” The thought warmed him up, which was probably a good thing even as they reached the east tower.
He was chilled... and would probably be willing to take Johns advice, but at the moment he was comfortable just standing in or out of the rain, leaning on John. But unfortunately... the night was kinda over now... He supposed he would go back to his room... but he wasn’t sure what room John was in... Maybe it was on the way. That would be nice, even if he did feel like a bit of a girl to want a guy to walk him to his door. ”What room are you? I’m on the 8th florr...”

"Alright, alright.... sugar filled goodness. Though I can't guarantee I'd be good at making that, either, if I were to someday make you something." He could always look it up... I mean, how hard was it to make things full of sugar? Looking up towards the east tower, John took his arm from around Adrian and placed his hands in his pockets. Trying to get at least his hands warm, having slight goosebumps on his arms that were hidden by his shirt, he turned his attention back to Adrian. He was good at hiding things, and being cold was one of them.
"8th floor. How did I not know you were up on the eighth floor? We must have passed each other sometime.... well... even if we didn't, we know now. I'm on the eight floor room 803. Want me to walk you up?" Letting out a laugh, John walked over to the door of the building, opening it for Adrian.

Grinned and hid the oncoming blush with a blatant grin, ”My gallant knight, I would ever so appreaceate that, but firt I must thank the skies for the bounty they have bestowed on me.” He glanced up at the rainclouds and stepped back so he could have a clear wide circle around him. Then he whistled, first high pitched almost too high to hear, and then lower pitched but much longer, with a shifting tone. The winds gathered around him as did the droplets of water as the clouds descended. The Sylphs and the Undines spun around him in something akin to the Sylphs earlier harassment, but this time, they were merely dancing with him, though he didn’t move a muscle... mostly because he didn’t want to look stupid in front of John... though it was impolite, he would make it up to them.
First the Sylphs departed, leaving him surrounded by a hollow globe of water, then one by one the Undines left until only his personal guardian was left, she returned to the vial with a gentle admonishment not to upset the Sylphs. Then she too was gone as he replaced the stopper. He turned to John and almost skipped through the door. ”Now we may depart and accend unto the heights of the eighth story.” He bit his lip, but waited for John to go first, not sure whether clinging to him would be too much at this point.

John watched silently as wind and water swirled around Adrian. He wasn't able to see the sylphs or the undines, but he always thought it was so.. interesting and well, beautiful to watch the elements swirl around Adrian like that. It always peaked his curiosity. He could not help but laugh a bit though, as he heard Adrian calling him a gallant knight. Him? Ha.. well he was dashing...
Ascend unto the heights of the eighth story? "Have you been reading too much Shakespeare lately? Not that.. that sounded like Shakespeare but it was..very wordy like... oh I'll shut up now." Rubbing his hand through his hair to try and get some of the water out of it he walked through the door into the building, holding it open for Adrian as he walked in. "Mind your step." There was a slight puddle on the floor from the rain, but it wasn't too big of a puddle. John just wanted to make sure Adrian didn't get more wet than he already was... both of them were probably going to catch a cold at this rate!
