A frown pierced his lips as he listened to her story about her powers, how it was affecting her and how her parents wanted her to keep using to know about it. Gingerly, he brought up a hand to gently rub her arm, in attempt to comfort her.
"I haven't done anything with my darkness power since the time it was accidentally used in class, I'm too...sc--" He cut himself off, he wasn't about to admit he was afraid of something in front of her, "My fire's good though," It was always the better one of the two, easier to control.
His fiery eyes widened at her question, an asprin? He had sleeping pills, so much for that lie. His mouth opened slightly to speak, but nothing came out, he was cornered at the moment. What would he say? He swallowed hard, pretending to look over to see if he had any left. Putting on a fake frown, "I don't seem to have any more... Sorry, Lissa."

Lissa blushed a little at the contact of his hand lightly touching her arm. She felt a little better just by the contact and was happy he didn't say anything. It was weird how they hadn't really bothered to talk in Montana, though they both had had a lot of the same classes and had been lumped togeather a lot because no one really wanted to be paired up with either of the school freaks.
Vaslisa nodded in understanding. She knew all too well how powers you had no idea about could scare you. How you didn't want to admit that fear of the unknown. They were both unknown for sure. "That's good about the fire. I wish I had more control in other elements. Having hippie powers can kinda suck. I mean, how threatning can healing be? 'You'd better stop or I'll heal you, asshole!'" She gave a timid laugh. "Yeah, that would scare everyone senseless."
She frowned and shurgged. "Oh well. I have a secret stash in my dorm. I'll take some when I get back." She didn't even bother to think that he could report her to the Student Council for useing unauthorized drugs. She sighed. "Another short coming with my powers. I can't heal myself....Do you want me to get rid of your headache? It'll go away a lot quicker."

Adrian quickly withdrew his hand when he realised what he was doing, he wasn't so forward with people normally but since he knew Vasilisa, and they shared very similar backgrounds in terms of their abilities, he felt that he could let his barriers down a bit. It felt odd but he knew it would end up happening some day.
He couldn't help but laugh at her statement about her healing powers, he shook his head, "I'd love to see their faces if you ever do that," He was being sarcastic like she was. The more he relaxed the more he felt he could just be calm and not worry about anything... What was she doing to him?
Although her wanting to heal him caused him to move a little away from her, he brought his hands up, waving them slightly as he shook his head for real. "Oh, no, no, I couldn't ask that of you."

Vasilisa laughed even more, feeling stranger since she didn't have to force it. It just came out naturally and...she liked it. She rolled her eyes only a little. "Oh really?" She laughed again, still feeling strange about it. "I can almost see the confused expressions now." She hesitantly looked at him again. It was so different...the feelings he was making her feel. She actually...felt very happy for once. It made her feel confused. The only time she ever felt truly happy was when she was healing someone. She was hooked on the feeling it gave her when she healed and she loved seeing the person get better so quickly. It made her feel like there was more to her existance than profit.
She frowned a little when he pulled away, a little hurt but it didn't affect her as it would have when they had known each other in Montana. "It's fine...but it would be a waste of a pill. Anyway, I know. The thought of me useing my creepy hippie healing powers on you is a little more than you can take." She smiled, making it seem like she was making another joke. But....there were too many times where she had been told just that. Her powers were too much to take in. Too much to handle. They didn't think they could accept somethingt that...abnormal. That strange.

For some reason, he laughed again. Adrian hadn't felt so at ease with someone for so long and he felt so comfortable laughing with her about a sarcastic joke she had made. He flashed her a quick smile as he noticed her hesistantly look at him, it made his heart flutter for a moment and he then looked away, up at the darkened sky, now lighting up with small sparkling dots called stars.
"No, no, it's not that at all, I have crazy powers myself so it's perfectly alright with me, I just..." He remembered the mental toll it took on her. He wondered if it did the same to himself if he ever attempted them again. "Besides, it's already going away!" Mostly because he never had one in the first place.

Vasilisa smiled more, it feeling much more genuine than the one she gave before. It wasn't that she had weird powers! She felt...so much relief. She had...been afraid that maybe that was the reason. It had been an unreasonable worry...but she couldn't help being afraid, even though he had a strange power as well...She nodded a little. "That's good that the headache is going away."
Vasilisa looked up and saw fireflies starting to dance around. She smiled even more. "Wow...don't they look so beautiful?" She turned her head to him, slightly. It was strange...but she was happy to be shareing this moment with him. It felt...really nice.

Yeah of course it was going away. It never existed in the first place. He was just glad he could feel more comfortable about talking of their home town since they both lived in the same place. They both knew what went on and how it went so sour compared to everyone else. He found himself shifting a little closer to her to see the fireflies a little easier.
"They are..." Just like you..." He added the last bit silently within his head and for a few seconds he was alright with it until he realised what he thought. He took a deep breath, thinking it over, she was very beautiful but she was also just a friend. He just shrugged it all off and looked up at the sky, mesmerized by the fireflies elegant dance.

Vasilisa blushed a little as he shifted closer to her to see the fireflies better but smiled more. It was really nice to be with someone. It was a nice moment and she was glad it was with Adrian. It was strange how she felt so comfortable with someone from her past and knew everything about her. Then again, they both were pretty similar in the way that they both had problems with family and their powers.
She looked over at him, looking at his eyes. They almost glowed in the dark. They were fascinating along with the rest of hi- Whoa. Where did that come from? Sure she might have had a little bit of a crush on him during their childhood but they were older now and they were just friends. Jesus, Lissa. Get a hold on yourself. Like he deserves getting dragged into all your problems? Like that's even an option? Absentmindedly she rubbed her wrist lightly. No. Friend was already asking too much. She'd be crazy-crazier than she already was-to drag Adrian in the mess that was known as Vasilisa Deikov.

Adrian sat and watched the fireflies, their elegant, shining dance spin across the lake's surface. He was trying to distract himself from Vasilisa, she was so beautiful and mesmerizing that he had forgotten almost everything. His fiery coloured eyes watched the water as he thought about how she was making him feel.
Different? Was that the right word? Or was it... alive? He wasn't sure, either way he liked it and he found no need to take any from the small pottle beside him. He leaned back against the large tree root, seeing how dark the sky had gotten since he had arrived. "It's getting late fast.." His words were soft and almost like a whisper but they were easily heard.

Vasilisa looked at Adrian and blushed a little. "Oh. Right. You're probably tired." Vasilisa frowned a little. She didn't really wanted to go. She already had broken the curfew by the look of how the sky appeared. But still...she felt...sad to leave. Who knew if he'd want to bother talking to her tomorrow. They had classes but...what if he didn't want to speak with her again?
She stood up and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet and looked down for a moment, swallowing silently. "Hey Adrian...if I were to be here tomorrow at about...say four...would you perhaps be here too?" She could feel her hands shaking lightly at her sides, she was so nervous. Oh, please let him say yes...

Adrian wasn't tired. Not at all.. Well his body was telling him he was, all those sleeping pills he had taken prior to their encounter were slowly starting to kick in. It explained all of his weird sleeping habits.
He decided against replying to her comment and averted his gaze back to the dancing fireflies, their light reflecting off the water and the colours mixing with the dark blue to make an odd reddish purple. Then she continued speaking, this time he didn't mind, she was Vasilisa, she was different, someone he could connect with.
Her question took him by surprise and a pale blush heated his cheeks, "A-ah." He cleared his throat, to try act a bit more calm and collected, "Well, if you're going to be here, then of course I'll be there." His personality changed when he was around Vasilisa, there was just that bond they had, it changed everything.

She smiled brightly and grasped his hand, bouncing slightly n the tips of her toes. "Thank you!" The she became aware that she was holding his hand and blushed and released his hand as quickly as she had taken it. "I-I look forward to it. It's been pretty lonely without anyone who really understands." She looked down, hesitant and not really wanting to leave, but knowing she had to.

During the time he awaited a reply from Vasilisa, Adrian had stood up from the large tree root and his hands had been slipped into his pockets, the warmth clinging to his almost icy finger tips. His eyes were focused on the water until he felt his hand in the cool air again but something warm, soothing and familiar was touching it. He looked up to see if was Vasilisa holding his hand, jumping for joy.
A deep blush graced his cheeks but only darkened as she let go, she had realised how forward that was but he couldn't help but smile brightly at her. "I do too, I'm glad we've met up again," He replied, knowing exactly how she felt. His roommate was nice and all but they would never understand. It was one of those 'you'd have to be there' kind of situations this time. Adrian's fiery eyes fell to the ground, he fiddled with the material that made up his pockets, trying to find the right words to say.
"W-would.. would you like me to walk you back to the dormitories?"

Smileing shyly she nodded in agreement. "Me too." She responded, quiet but loud enough that he was sure to hear it. At his offer to walk her back up to her dorm she blushed lightly again and nodded, her smile still timid. "I'd love that. Thank you." She felt so happy. He actually wanted to spend more time with her....

Adrian noticed her small giggle and timid smile, finding it hard to keep his own smile from tugging at his lips. She was really cute, underneath all the depression and past events, she was actually a nice person and had feelings like everyone else, she didn't deserve the treatment she received.
He nodded as she agreed to let him walk her back to the dormitories. He contemplated holding her hand but decided against it, his hands returning to the insides of his pockets. No use in making it even more awkward than it was. "Though.. I still find it a little weird that we both happen to be here, at this school..." He wasn't intending for it to sound like a bad thing, but you had to admit, them finding each other on this island like that, was kind of weird.
