Today hadn't gone well at all.
Despite her constant attempts to please the teacher and do well in the lesson, she had messed up and ruined everything. The teacher's look of disappointment and scolding brought her over the edge and she felt her teal coloured eyes well up in the middle of class.
She waited until the bell for lunch signalled for everyone to be dismissed. She didn't feel hungry and went for a wander down the corridors, her emotions finally getting the better of her and her lip quivered a little before a few tears streamed down her cheeks. She wouldn't be able to face her teacher tomorrow.. was she going to go? She didn't need to, she could just glance at someone's notes and know what was going on.
But why did she have to be such a klutz? She leaned against the light grey painted wall, her uniform sitting nicely on her form as she slowly slid down the wall to the floor. She lifted up the bottom of her skirt to tuck between her thigh and her calves so when she brought her legs to her chest people couldn't see up it. Her arms wrapped around her knees as she tried not to cry some more. The silence was comforting.

It was his first week in school, and already, he wanted to go back home. The people had stared a little at him, even though he had found out a little earlier that this was a school for gifted students. Why would they stare at him funny when they were the freaks? It didn't make any sense to him! Was this world really that twisted and fucked up?
Leon D'Amore turned down another hallway, glaring at the ground in front of him with his good eye. He had ditched his physical education class, so he was sure he'd probably be hearing from the Student Council, but he really didn't care. He thought it was stupid that he'd be receiving punishment from a student, rather than a member of faculty, but he found that this school was so different from anywhere he'd ever been.
The cross upon his chest reflected a little bit of light from the sun that filtered in through a window. He didn't remember his mother all too well, but he knew that the necklace had, at one time, been hers... before her death... He didn't know what sort of secrets his father hid. There was so much he didn't know about his mother, yet to ask his father... That would be sin. Besides, the man wouldn't give him any answers.
He turned another corner and his eye widened as he tripped over something. He stumbled a little and grabbed at a wall next to him in order to keep from falling over. He let out a low growl and he turned to glare back at whatever he tripped over, only to find a person. And his first instinct?
"What the hell's your--" He paused the moment he saw the girl's face, his voice immediately catching in his throat and his eye widening. Were those... tears...?

Elise brought her legs closer to her body, shaking her head so she would stop crying, she didn't want to keep shedding all these tears. It was stupid and weak of her, she should be stronger than this. Maybe there were a few songs she could finish to help herself out? She shook her head some more and buried her head in her knees.
When she felt something pulled on her foot she jerked forward and her hand went to the ground to keep herself up. Her eyes widened and she looked up at the boy who had started to yell at her which only made her feel worse. She was just a waste of space, she should have just gone back up her dormitory.
"I'm sorry! I.. I didn't.. know anyone else was.. going be down here.." She choked out as she scrambled to her feet, brushing her skirt down.

Shit... Shit.... Shitshitshitshitshit......
She was crying.
Leon winced a little and tried to soften his expression a little as he took a slight step back. He stopped himself and just stared forward at the girl a little before he sighed, looking down.
"Don't apologize... I should have been watching where I was going..." He said, sounding defeated. The last thing he needed to be doing was making her even more upset. He glanced back up at her, almost shyly, and took in her appearance.
He figured he recognized her, probably as someone from one of his classes... He couldn't remember which class, though. He hadn't been in class long enough to really recognize faces and where they came from. But she did look slightly familiar, if nothing else.
"A-ah... Are... you okay...?" He asked, sounded somewhat awkward.

Elise braced herself for another set of harsh words and tones from the boy like before but she blinked in confusion when she saw the expression change on her face. It was now soft, and genuinely apologetic. She felt herself calming down a little and she brought a thin hand up to wipe a tear from falling down her cheek.
With a sniff, she nodded her head slowly at his question, "I'll be fine," She murmured under her breath, her hand having to come up again to wipe away the tears that just wouldn't stop flowing. She wished she was stronger, like Cilla, Cilla always knew how to get through things, but she wasn't there anymore. Thanks to her parents, she was alone.

Leon didn't believe her for one second that she'd be fine. Her tears hadn't stopped and she looked as if she were just going to burst into sobs. He tried to think back to where the nearest restroom was... Just around the corner, if he remembered correctly. He had just passed it coming down the hall before he turned the corner. He looked up at the girl, his mouth pressing in determination.
"Don't move." He said before he turned and quickly ran down the hall, back around the corner. He was relieved to find he had been right in finding a bathroom. He went inside and went to the paper towel dispenser. They weren't the best, but it was better than using your hands to wipe your tears. He pulled the first few paper towels out and set them to the side; never use the first few on your face. He pulled out five or six and then turned back and walked out of the bathroom.
When he finally rounded the corner again, and sighed in relief to see the girl had listened, he thrust his hand forward and held the paper towels to her. He kept his eyes focused on the wall next to him, a little embarrassed since he probably was acting like a freak... But anything to get her to stop crying...

The looked up as the boy told her not to move, confusion flooded into her expression and she tilted her head to the side, watching him dart down the hall and around the corner to obviously go and fetch something. She waited in silence, sobbing a little more now that she was alone. Just as she was about to sit back down, the boy returned with paper towels in his hand.
A light blush heated in her cheeks and she gingerly took the material from the boy. "Th-thank you.." She said as she took one in her other hand and brought it to her eyes, closing them as she dabbed the moisture with the towel. "You.. you didn't have to do that.. you know.." She appreciated that he went out of his way for her like that, though, especially since she was a stranger to him.

Leon gave a shrug and shoved his hands in his pockets when she thanked him and told him he didn't have to be so kind. It was... part of his code. His own person code... Always be nice to women; always respect them; never lot a girl cry. He blamed Alex and Lizzie...
"Girls shouldn't cry..." He muttered, his cheeks tinting with a light pink. The first real person he gets a chance to talk to, and he makes a fool of himself. How lovely... At this rate, he'll just be known as the freak in the school of freaks.

Dabbing her other eye with the towel, she sniffed again and turned to fold the other paper towels up and store them in her backpack so she could use them later if it came to that. Probably would, knowing her and her classes following the lunch hour.
His small response darkened the blush on her cheeks and she glanced at the ground, "Th-thats.. very sweet," She replied, shuffling her feet. The awkwardness settled in soon after, wow, she hadn't expected her first actual encounter with another student to be so... uncomfortable.

Leon brought a hand up to run through his hair before dropping it and sighing, looking up at the girl.
"Just... stop crying and move on. Unless, like, your mom died or something, whatever you're crying about isn't worth crying over. So toughen up and get over it..." He looked away, glaring a little at the wall before sighing and starting to walk. He paused just before he passed her, standing right next to her, but facing forward.
"Just... Don't fucking judge me." he muttered before starting to walk again.

Elise swallowed as he spoke to her, the harshness of his tone scared her and it also made her rethink things, she should just toughen up and just move on. She didn't have to be so emotional about the slightest things but.. she could help it.
As he stood beside her, facing the opposite way, his words confused her. "W-why would I judge.. you?" She said, curiosity lacing her voice. She wouldn't judge someone, ever, she had been through enough bullying and was very accepting over other people, people were the way they were just because. Nothing else involved, it was all their own decisions and it was comfortable for them. There was no need..

He stopped a few feet away from her, looking down the vast, empty hall with a dark smile slowly creeping upon his lips. He turned back to look at her, his movement almost violent as he turned to fully face her. His dark smile turned into a cruel smirk and he shoved his hands back into his pockets.
"This world is filled with fucked-up people." He replied simply, as if it were the most obvious answer in the world. "When a freak in a school full of freaks is judged, then you really have to question humanity..." He turned his head to the left, glaring at the wall with his good eye and leaving his covered eye on the side that the girl could see.
"Forget you met me. Forget I ever spoke to you. Forget that you ever fucking saw me..." He rose his hand up to give the slightest of waves before he turned to walk down the hall again.

Elise had now turned around completely, holding her hand up in a weak fist to her bottom lip as the boy spoke. The way he responded was like it was so obvious that it was stupid of her not to know the answer, which she kind of believed and felt guilty about. "But.. I'm not judging you.." She murmured, barely audible, her eyes facing the ground.
At his final comment, she gained the wanted confidence to speak up a little more, this boy, was kind to her and now wanted her to just forget about him? "How.. can I forget about you?" Her voice was clearly louder than before. She hoped she reached him. "Not.. not everyone is like that.." She thought everyone was a bully and jealous of her so called fantastic memory recollection but there were a few that weren't, like Adele and Cilla. They were wonderful people and she missed them.

'Leon... Not everyone's like that...'
The words the girl spoke stopped the boy in his steps, causing his single eye to widen and his breath to catch. Those same exact words... Alex had said them, after Leon had made Lizzie cry when he told her that the world sucked and everyone was cruel.
"Why would you not want to forget about me?" He asked, keeping his back to her. He was thankful for the control he had over his voice. "I'm just some strange guy who got into your business, when I could have just gone off and left you alone."

Well at least something had struck in there or he wouldn't have stopped like that and continued talking with her. She took a few steps forward, now only a foot or so behind him but she kept her gaze to the floor, in case he glared at her or began yelling, at least then she wouldn't have to look at the anger and hatred that came along with it.
She shook her head, bringing the towel she had kept in her hand from before to dab her eyes again. She would not cry, not any more, he said she should toughen up.. "You're strange.. but that's only because I don't know you.." She swallowed, "But you did stop.. and help me... so I don't want to forget you.. because you were so kind to me," And she had heard a saying before that mentioned something about never forget something that once made you smile. The thought made a smile lightly tug at her lips.
