Kyerin was sitting in his office, his mind wandering off. Haruka had asked for him to be here, at eleven thirty, just thirty minutes before lunch. He had been planning on having a light morning and a nice meal at noon, but this meeting was apprently important, so the food would have to be delayed. He even had to make sure he was here at eleven to make sure he was here on time... though he was getting hungry. Bah, she should have known better than to make a meeting before lunch... though she was sure to catch him then. Well, it was a catch 22... he would just have to wait until afterwards.

Alright, so some teachers feared that odd glint in her eye when she would smile and ask politely if she could leave class half an hour early, presenting them with worksheets they had handed out barely five minutes prior. Her English teacher that day was the unlucky victim, who about pissed himself when she had spoken to him. As she left the classroom, she could have sworn she heard a sigh of relief as the door shut behind her.
Haruka Amagi was sure the leader of the Student Freedom Force wouldn't be in the meeting room yet. There was a reason she requested for him to meet with her earlier than lunch time, considering he was usually late to everything. However, in the rare case that he did arrive at the appointed time, she felt it would be right that she was there. And so, she walked through the silent halls, the only sound bouncing through them being the sound of her soft footsteps.
When she opened the door to the office, her eyes widened slightly. So he was here. She controlled her expression to become calm and she let the door shut behind her as she walked to one of the tables and opened her laptop. She pulled out a small CD case and held it out to Kyerin, making eye contact with the man.
"Friday night's mission was a complete success, Saito-san." If there was any chance someone was listening, she decided to speak in the language only they and one other member of the SFF would understand. Of course, there were many people at T'zenshin that spoke Japanese... But there were more who didn't speak Japanese who could be potentially listening.

Kyerin's eyes immediately strayed to the clock when the girl came in; it was exactly eleven thirty, which was no surprise, considering that Haruka was always punctual. She had probably bet that he wouldn't be here yet, but he was making sure to be early to important things like this by getting there ridiculously early; he was getting used to this role as being a leader.
When she withdrew the CD and handed it to him, speaking in their native language, the young man nodded, opening the drive on the computer, and placing the CD inside, so that he could view its contents. It was a single video, but it did show the vice president of the Student Council and another male student... doing things he didn't need to see two men see. He quickly paused the video, and covered up the shock on his face with a more neutral expression. "Excellent work, Haruka,"[/i] he said, sticking with Japanese as well. "And Rai was quite helpful in this assignment?"[/i]

Haruka held back a laugh at the expression that first flitted onto her leader's face. It was priceless and though he had been quick to regain his composture, the younger member couldn't get the expression out of her head. She was able to control herself to keep herself from laughing, settling on a small smile before he turned back and asked her a question.
She gave a nod. "Yes, Aikaryu-kun was very helpful for this mission. He was the reason we were able to keep up with them throughout the evening. Had I gone alone, I am sure I would have either been caught or lost them."
As she delivered her report on Rai's participation, her eyes locked on the older male's face. She had come to memorize the features of his face and noted, more than once, that they shared many similar features. It was rather silly to think of, but she linked it to being the fact that they were both Japanese. But his features were much more beautiful than hers. She adored him...
She swallowed hard as she finished speaking, trying to keep herself from blushing at her thoughts.

Kyerin noticed the small smile on Haruka's face, which was rare for the most part, considering that she seemed to specialize in a deadpan expression for their meetings and assignments. Still, it was nicer to see her smile; it made her seem less like a robot and more like a real person, though she was almost too efficient for a regular student.
The young man nodded, noting that Rai was definately a growing asset to the SFF, and was working quite well as Haruka's partner. Perhaps he had underestimated the boy... if this was the case, then he should have more responsibility and work, perhaps making a team of the two of them. That could help quite a bit while they were still trying to get everyone organized.
There was a brief moment of silence, and Kyerin looked up from his thoughts to see that Haruka was staring at him, though it didn't look expectantly, like she had asked him a question. It was more like she was just gawking for some reason. "Is there something on my face?"[/i] he asked, genuinely concerned; he had had a small breakfast before reaching the office early to make sure he didn't miss the girl, so there could still be some food on his face.

Haruka's eyes widened and she averted her gaze to the ground, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. Had she really been just openly staring?! Oh, such a horrible move for her to make! What in the world had she been thinking... Well, duh, about Kyerin, which led her not to pay attention to the fact that she had been staring at Kyerin right in front of his face.
"I-I apologize, Saito-san... I...." She cut herself off, unsure of what to say next. She bit her lip nervously, trying to regain her composture.

Kyerin smiled lightly as the girl looked away, blushing a bit; apparently, she didn't realize that she was staring at him... and he guessed he didn't have food on his face, which was good. Still, it was much more interesting, and amusing, to see her so lively; she had been deadpanned the prior year. However, that made him curious; why the change?
Well, the best way, and sometimes simpliest, was to attack the problem head on. "Something bothering you, Haruka?"[/i] he asked, concerned about her. Despite the amusement, it was odd for her, and if something was affecting her, bad things could happen... both to her and to the SFF.

Her name coming from his lips made her heart stop and she couldn't stop blushing. She brought her hands up to her cheeks, as if hoping that she could keep the blush from staining her cheeks. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind, and took a deep breath, before she looked up at the male in front of her again, swallowing hard.
He seemed genuinely concerned and she couldn't help but admire him even more than she already did. He was one of the most perfect people she knew...
For the past month, her mind had been going back and forth between whether she had stronger feelings for Kyerin or for Rai... Of course, she and Rai had gotten closer through their work, but she always had liked Kyerin. And after liking someone for such a long time, it's usually that person that someone would choose to like more.
She wasn't sure how to go about it, but she had a feeling that if she didn't admit it now, she may never have a good chance to do so. So swallowing hard, she opened her mouth to speak.
"We've known each other for over two years now." She started, her tone calm. "We've worked together throughout our time in the Student Freedom Force... and we get along quite well... We may not have interacted as much... But..." She paused, shutting her eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath. She opened her eyes and continued. "I can't stop myself from thinking about you... To the point where I am confident when I say that I like you very much....
"And to the point where I am confident enough to question your feelings for me."

Kyerin was surprised at the strong reaction the girl gave in reply to his simple question, blushing before covering up her face. Okay, yes, this was not the girl that he knew; she definately wouldn't get this flustered unless that it was something really big. Hopefully she would come out and answer his question; if she kept acting like this, it would be painfully obvious to everyone that something was going on.
As the girl began to speak, the young man leaned forward to listen to Haruka, curious as to where this was going. However, when she came out and said that she liked him very much, and asked how he felt, he had to lean back, not expecting this. Wow... this was not what he had thought at all... of course, he didn't really have an idea, but liking him was definately far down on his list of possibilities...
And now was the hardest part: his response. Kyerin cleared his throat before looking at Haruka and speaking. "We have worked together over the last two years, and have had classes together. You're an amazing person, both in your studies and in your computer skills. You are someone I can trust, someone I would call friend... however... my admiration and respect for you there. I'm afraid I don't like you in the same manner that you feel about me. I'm sorry."[/i]

It was nearing the time that he was meant to be leaving class early, he had a very important 'club' meeting to go to and Haruka had requested he turn up at exactly eleven thirty. She should have known he would be running a little bit late and why couldn't she wait until twelve for this meeting? It must involve the video footage they got of the Vice-President last night, he shuddered.
Rai's attempts to get out of class were futile at first, the teacher requested that he finish his work before he could leave, frustrated at this he worked as best as he could, answering the questions half assed.
Finally out in the corridors, Rai walked briskly to the Student Freedom Force office. In every reflection he saw of himself he took a quick glimpse to see if he looked okay, often stopping to fix his hair, he was always a mess during school, only ever dressing up on formal occasions like the Winter Dance. His heart skipped a beat as he thought of the dance, a smile slipping onto his lips.
He came to the SFF office room, his hand had just touched the cool metal of the door handle and he heard Kyerin's voice. His eyes narrowed, he really didn't like that guy. He pushed the door open a little but caught the end of Kyerin's sentence, he was telling someone he couldn't return the feelings back to whoever it was, they were speaking Japanese so it had to be...
Haruka.
His heart stopped but he couldn't react now so he swallowed and walked further into the room, "Sorry I'm late."

Haruka kept her expression void of any emotion as she listened to Kyerin compliment her, though she knew exactly where his response was going. She had that horrible feeling deep in the pit of her stomach that told her that things would not go well. Her heart beat furiously in her chest, but she kept her expression calm and collected. She kept firm eye contact as she took her rejection head on.
She could swear she could feel her heart tearing a hole in itself, but she kept it well hidden.
As she heard the door open, she opened her mouth and spoke, her tone low and smooth, though there was a hint of shakiness to them.
"Very well." She said simply before she looked over her shoulder at Rai. She couldn't even muster up the effort to offer him a smile, so she gave him a nod in greeting.
"It's quite alright, Rai-kun. I gave him the report already, so I apologize if it was difficult for you to get out of class..."
She moved back and brushed some hair from her forehead, shutting her eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath to keep control over her emotions. "I do suppose that I should reveal the identity of the male that was with Sven Carlisle that evening." She opened her eyes and pushed her glasses up before walking to her suitcase. She clicked a few buttons before she turned the computer screen for the two men to see.
"Matthew Spencer Fletcher. Grade Eleven. Roommate of Sven Carlisle. This is his first year at the school, having transferred from a few schools in America. No gifted classes. His grades are average and it can be noted that he is taking two English electives along with a core English class." She spoke Matthew's name in English so they could get a hear for the name naturally, rather than it being changed to Kana, as she'd done for Sven's name (much like Rai had done before).

Kyerin was surprised at the void of emotion that the girl had on her face when he spoke, and the continuing blankness on her face in the moments afterwards; she was either taking this well, or she was hiding it deep inside. It was weird to see her back like this now, after she was gaining emotion. He probably would never understand her.
He noticed that the door opened, and glanced up to see Rai come in. The young man merely nodded in reply before looking back at Haruka and her computer as she spoke. He nodded a bit at her comment before looking at the duo. "If he's taking no gifted classes ,and has average grades... then there must be another reason why he's in this school. Do you think you'd be able to find out what that reason is?"[/i] No one just comes to this school; there was something, be it gifted powers or exceptional talent... or a dark secret. Everyone had their own reason.

Rai's heart was beating hard in his chest, had he heard everything right? Did Kyerin just reject Haruka? Did Haruka just like... confess her 'feelings' towards their leader? His eyes watered a little and he brought a hand up to wipe one of them clear and kept his eyes off the two up the front of the office. He brought a chair up to the desk they were at and sat down, resting his elbow on the wooden surface.
He didn't need to make eye contact, he could hear perfectly fine and sometimes he wished people would speak in a more quieter tone than normal. Then again, he was the only one who had this kind of ability so it wouldn't be fair.
"Probably has something to run away from. He may look male but there were times that I could hear him speaking in a more feminine way, there is no way a male his age could speak like that," He said, his voice monotoned and slightly bored.

Haruka gave their leader a curt nod in response to his request, though her eyes turned to gaze at Rai as he spoke about his opinion on the situation. However, her ears couldn't hear the words he was speaking... The only thing she could hear was how dead and bored his voice sounded, which was odd.
What could have caused the suddent change in his mood? He seemed alright earlier in the day when she had requested he come meet with them... But now, it was as if something had had zapped his energy away. Suddenly, her heart dropped to her stomach...
Had he heard the conversation between herself and Kyerin? She swallowed hard and looked away, trying to keep her composture as she looked at their leader.
"We will be sure to look into it, Saito-san...."
At that, the bell rang for lunch and she looked away, awaiting for the man to bid her farewell as he would go off to lunch.

Kyerin frowned a bit at the two of them; they both seemed dead to the world, which was somewhat aggravating. He could understand a bit for Haruka, but Rai... maybe he was just having a bad day. Well, the main reason for this meeting was over, and the bell did ring for lunch, so it would be best to let them go for now, let them deal with whatever it was.
The older boy nodded, looking at both of them. "When you two have a chance, I would like you to look into that. But your studies come first, so make sure that you're prepared for exams that are coming up. And with that, you may leave. Thank you for your hard work."[/i] Hopefully they didn't have any more questions; he was hungry now for lunch, and would acquire his secret stored lunch in the fridge under his desk to eat as soon as they left, to not seem like a pig.
