The art room was open today, but empty; it was past the normal time that classes occurred, so there was no set group of children sitting around, drawing or painting or making lewd whispers to each other about wanting to have certain people come in and be a nude model "in the name of art". However, the door was unlocked, and the lights were on due to the room holding several supplies and materials that students could get outside of class... if they wanted to spend a lot of extra money. It was a lot easier for them to just use the equipment there.
Which was the reason for why a girl was sitting in the room, humming lightly to herself. The pottery wheel in front of her was spinning, the lump of clay on it being carefully molded by her hands, the lightest touch altering the entire appearance of it. She had just started a few minutes ago, so the materials were still lumpish; however, her final intended goal was a vase that she could use for flowers to help brighten up her room. On a small table next to her was some more clay, in case she needed it, and two golden bracelets, having been removed from her wrist before beginning this endeavor.
And so she sat, her back to the door, a soft humming accompanying the whirring of the pottery wheel as she worked, practically oblivious to the world around her.

It was still a bit bright outside, and the girl walking the elective corridors was a bit sensitive to the sunlight. Not that she would turn to ashes or anything, but it just bothered her eyes. Not to mention she could get easily sunburned. Stopping when she neared the art room, she narrowed her eyes slightly. The noise of humming and a pottery wheel... yet ... there was no scent of blood. It seemed as if there was no life force...
This school just kept getting more interesting the more she stayed.
She walked over to the art room door, slowly sliding it open. She looked inside to see the girl at the pottery wheel, slowly stepping inside and closing the door lightly behind her. She seemed to be in a rather happy mood... and did not seem to be human either. She slowly walked over to the girl, putting her hands behind her back. "Pardon my intrusion, miss, but may I ask what you are making..?"

"Ah!"
Having been completely enthralled with her work, the approaching footsteps of the other girl hadn't been heard at all, causing the hands to jolt from her being surprised, and a random gouge to be taken out of the clay, dispensing the lost material onto the sheet that covered the floor in this part of the room. As if forgetting about the newcomer for a moment, the girl stared at the work, scowling at this noticable marring of her piece. She scooped up some of the clay at her side, and carefully applied it back on, smoothing down the surface so that it was even again.
That being done, she glanced over her shoulder, smiling at the new girl, the pottery wheel still running. "I'm making a vase," she said almost naively. "My room's pretty dull, so flower should help, and I need something to store them in."

"Ah.." Her voice was somewhat flat, smiling slightly before walking over in front of Sanya and kneeling down, picking up the glop of clay that had fallen onto the floor. She walked over to the side table that held the extra clay, slowly placing it down and wiping her hands a bit of the clay. "I'm sorry for.. making you mess up like that.."
Alice placed her hands behind her back once more, watching Sanya for a moment as if trying to figure out what she was. Which indeed, she was. It seemed to intrigue her to try and figure out who this person was, slowly grinning a bit. This could be a fun guessing game~
"You aren't human. You aren't even alive, are you?"

The other girl didn't seem to have much emotion behind her smile, which was also a bit flat, but that didn't bother her that much; she naturally seemed to have more energy and excitement to her, so other people being less energetic was fine for a balance. "It's fine; see? Already fixed!" she replied with a giggle, pointing to where the mark had been. if things were broken, they could be repaired; there was little use in crying over spilt milk.
However, at the statements, her grin faded for a second, along with her foot letting off the pedal, causing the pottery wheel to slow down momentarily. But she quickly caught herself, putting back up a grin and keeping the wheel going. "Whatcha mean? Course I'm alive; I'm talking to you, aren't I? Why wouldn't you think so?" She was obviously flustered, as heard by her quick replies, and one hand strayed to her bangs, flattening them down to hide her forehead.

Alice grinned even more as she saw the girl react to this statement, her slowly taking a chair from one of the desks in the room and sitting down. She had known of quite a few creatures through her existence, though she never payed any attention to them. So what might this girl be..? She had no blood...
"Yes, you are talking to me. Don't be afraid. I'm only asking questions and trying to find out who... well... what you are. The reason why I wouldn't think you are alive is... well.. you have no blood. Most creatures have blood or an aura about them to signify their existence. You have no blood.. and no such aura. Observing you... it seems to have something to do with your forehead."
Alice tilted her head to the side a bit, trying to get a better look at Sanya's forehead, though it was a bit silly as Sanya had flattened her bangs over her forehead a bit. "Hm.."

Noticing that she was being stared at, Sanya quickly turned away, shifting a bit so her back was more towards the girl as she refocused her attention on the vase, her hands moving mechanically. She had to do something to get all of this focus off of her; she didn't mind people knowing, but the way this girl was approaching it... was kinda creepy. Of course, there wasn't really a good way to approach the topic, since she wouldn't bring it up.
"You're saying such weird things," the girl said, forcing up a small laugh that sounded quite hollow. "Why wouldn't I have blood? Why would you say I don't have blood? Am I wearing a funny shirt that says that? How would you even know such a thing anyway? Do you start talking to everyone like this?"

Alice smirked a bit this time, crossing her arms over her chest. This girl was interesting. Avoiding the question... almost certainly meant that you weren't human. If you avoid it, you most certainly are not denying it. Alice would admit she was approaching this in a rather uncomfortable way for Sanya, but that was how she did things. Made things as uncomfortable as possible for others.
"No, no funny shirt... And I apologize for asking this straight out. I came here to learn to be more like a human.. I suppose... and I'm still learning. You are part of my learning experience. Do you really want to know how I know? "
Alice stood up from her chair, walking over behind her and looking at Sanya's reflection within the window to the outside. Alice had closed her eyes, giving off an innocent laugh as she tilted her head to the side and held up her finger, as if pointing out something. "This school is for gifted students... Gifted being a very wide term... So I was only asking. It was a wild guess, and from your reaction that was why I pushed the matter."
No need for her to truly know the truth... No one did... that is, unless she was hungry and needed to feed. Then again.. she had her blood tablets for that. She did make an oath with the Headmaster... but... it might be so tempting... with such students..

The truth was a tricky subject; she hadn't told the other girl the truth, obviously, but she had never told any lies. Being alive or not was really a philosophical question, one that she did agree with that she was alive. Of course, sooner or later, as the questions drew the cage closer and closer, she would have to tell, or end up lying, which would be impossible for her. But it wasn't quite there yet.
The girl gazed intently at the clay she had, forcing it to take a vase shape before reaching one hand inside to hollow it out, still talking as she worked. "Gifted is vague; there are a lot of reasons why someone could be here. But how about you? Why are you here? How are you gifted?" That would buy her some time... not that that time would be much.

Why was she here? What was her gift? Alice's eyes seem to close halfway, as if plotting on what to say next. However, she had answered too quickly to actually make it seem like she was plotting something. Then again, the girl she was trying to convinced did not seem to be paying much attention to her anyway. All the better for Alice~ "I have quite a memory for history... and other things. Not only that, my senses are greatly heightened. Mostly my sense of smell. I seem to be making you uncomfortable.. Is there any way I can change that, Ms?"
Alice blinked, putting her finger to her mouth. She seemed to be getting a bit more emotion as she spoke, closing her eyes and smiling. She felt a bit silly. "Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alice Tudor. It is a pleasure to meet you, miss. If it makes you feel any better, many people have called me a monster and that I am not a living being either."

Learning a bit more about her inquisitor made Sanya relax a bit, her hands not pushing as heavily into the clay now, letting the material take shape as opposed to truly forcing it, doing more what her father had taught her. It was almost ready to be placed in the kiln to bake, so that would leave her free from having to sit here in the classroom.
The girl smiled a bit, feeling more at ease, and more willing to give up information to the other girl. "Sanya Hadia, but please just call me Sanya, Alice," she said, easily slipping into a first name relationship. "Knowing your name and having you talk a bit about yourself helped; it's not just a stranger asking me these questions now. I'm guessing you can smell blood, by what you asked earlier, and you were right to be honest. I'm not really as gifted at learning about others as you are; why would you be called a monster?"

Alice continued to watch Sanya through the reflection in the window, seeing her hands easing up a bit on the clay of the vase she was making. She seemed to be almost done with it, and from her response, she seemed to be opening up a bit more. She did seem a bit uncomfortable still, but Alice decided her fun was done and she wouldn't push as much..
"From my heightened senses, yes. I can smell blood... I usually could when close to someone but.. when I was close to you I didn't smell anything. It's a bit strange, I know.. but since I knew my history so well and I could smell when someone was bleeding and... always ended up... in situations where I wasn't supposed to... they said I hurt them. Even if the person just fell and scrapped their leg. But you seem to be almost done.. so I will leave you alone. "
Alice walked away from the window, slowly turning to Sanya and curtseying to her. "It was a pleasure to meet you Sanya. Someday, maybe you'll tell me about the mark on your forehead. "

Sanya frowned a bit as her finger lazily drew a small groove into the clay, adding a bit of a pattern to the pot. She didn't do much with the clay naturally, instead painting it a nice color. But that wasn't the point; this girl was leaving her right now, which was weird, considering that she was almost done.
"You're right; I am almost done," she said, glancing at the vase to make sure she didn't botch anything so close to the end. "But that doesn't mean you have to leave, Alice. In fact, if you wanted to wait, I could go with you to wherever you're wandering to, and we could chat more." She was actually quite a socialite... just through verbal means. She didn't like people to be in her little personal bubble.
"And I'm sorry those people were rude and lied about things. That's just mean." The older girl huffed at the prospect of such a thing. Even though they had just met, and half of the time, Alice had been acting creepy, she still liked the girl, and mean things shouldn't happen to people she liked. It was naive, but nice.

Alice was taken a bit off guard, standing up straight and watching Sanya as she put a slight groove into the vase. She wanted... to chat more? She had asked so many strange questions, though... However, she did come to the institute to learn more about humans and to.. to try and make friends for once. When Sanya mentioned how it was mean for the people to treat her that way...it only made Alice think of the things from her past. Who on earth at this school would want to be friends with a murderer who had killed so many people? Who had drank the blood of innocents all for revenge of her parents death? Not to mention, she really did not trust humans.
This girl though... she didn't... seem like a normal human. So Alice slowly nodded, closing her eyes halfway. "If.. you wish to accompany me. I was not particularly heading anywhere... I just ... its hard for me to sleep at night, so I tend to wander. Also, there is no need to apologize for the incompetance of others. It was their choice to do what they did."

Sanya shook her head lightly. "Not a demand or even a request; just an offer. You can leave if you want to. You can stay if you wish. You can even stay after I'm gone. Don't let me tell you what to do." It was highly likely that she would stay; she may leave though. It just depended on how being with someone would counter her apparent curiousity.
The pottery wheel began to slow down as the girl carefully looked over the vase for flaws, still speaking as she did. "I don't apologize for them; I apologize for you. You shouldn't have to deal with things like that. If you don't like someone, you just don't mess with them. It's how the world should work." Spending time around people you didn't like... only led to pain and suffering.
