It was after school and she still had her school uniform on, she was sitting in the choir room, one leg crossed over the other. The sun was still shining through the window, lighting up most of the room, only a few shadows could be seen in the far off corners. Brown locks fell over her shoulder as she kept her head down, her teal coloured eyes watching the lined paper in front of her. Beside the pad was countless amounts of screwed up balls of paper. A few lines had been written in black ink, the pen tapping against the paper as she thought.
She had all these ideas running around in her head that it became difficult to get them out and keep them making sense at the same time.
I'm becoming a monster, just like you, after it all, you'll try to break me too, falling forever, chasing dreams, I brought you to life just to hear you scream.
Was that how she was feeling? Like a monster? No.. she felt more scared and wanted to crawl back into her shell than go through another day. A sigh passed through her lips, she never had this much trouble writing lyrics before. Was it the atmosphere? Usually she wrote in her bedroom, locked up, where she could let her emotions run wild. Here she felt as if she had to keep them in check, what if someone came in? She put a line through the paragraph, moving down a few lines.
Here I lie forever, sorrow still remains, Will the water pull me down and wash it all away? Silent, I go under, I am not afraid, I can see the daylight shine and slowly drift away Safe to say it's over, sink into the grave.
That seemed more so what she felt at the time. She could feel her mind begin to click into gear, ideas flowing naturally as her pen moved across the paper, the only sound in the room was her writing. She hoped it would stay that way.

Klaus was panicking.
Of course, why wouldn't he? It was exam time and that meant that he would have to spend hour upon hour in his room doing nothing but studying. He needed to perfect and memorize every detail of all of his subjects, Government in particular. He knew that since he wasn't getting perfect grades in that class he'd need a one hundred to get a grade he'd be able to be slightly proud of. It was all so stressful though! And worse of all, Klaus didn't really have any time to practice his music, which was disappointing and it really made him crave music.
To Klaus Leighton a day without making music was a horrible day.
Thankfully he managed to get himself some spare time, Christopher let him go early from his extra help lessons and so the boy decided to go to the Choir room and pick up one of the music books and practice singing. He was still in his uniform, though he had his precious hat on as well.
It didn't take him long to get to the choir room and just opening the door made him feel so much more relaxed. There was something about the music rooms that just had that effect on him. He walked in and closed the door behind him. Just as he started to head towards the cabinets though, that's when he saw the girl...writing? The boy stopped to think for a second, he really shouldn't bother her and he didn't want to disturb her...but he really needed to practice.
"A-ah...sorry if I bothered you," he blurted, though of course that would probably be what bothered the girl.
She looked kinda familiar though. Was she in choir, too?

In terms of exams, the only thing Elise was worried about was her practical tests in Chemistry, the others she had a fair grasp on but she wasn't worried about her mark as long as it was above at least eighty percent.
Won't you get on your knees Have faith Believe In this lie with us all
Living a lie. Judging from her observations of other people, she could tell that so many were living a lie, and bringing people in with them. As if they didn't want to be the one at fault, when they really were. Elise tapped her pen against the pad paper again, a hum escaping through her closed lips as she thought. There was no tables in the choir classroom, when there was theory to be done, it was moved to an empty room so Elise had to sit on the wooden floor, her bottom slowly becoming numb.
She'd have to--
She was broken from her thoughts, losing all the ideas that were swimming around in her head as she heard the sound of a male voice. Her teal eyes snapped up, seeing the familiar face. Where had she seen that face before? She swallowed a lump in her throat, putting up her hand, "It.. it's okay!" She spluttered out as she rose up from the floor, the feeling returning to her legs and other parts of her body. "You.. weren't b-bothering me at.. all" Her lips curved into a small smile, but her eyes told a different story, being in the presence of other people made her so nervous.

She was obviously uncomfortable with him being around, Klaus noticed. This girl seemed like a shy one, sure she seemed nice but the way she spoke and that look in her eyes gave it away.
"I just need to look for something, I won't be long, just need to find a good tenor book is all...," he trailed off, giving her a sheepish smile as he turned to the cabinet and started to look through. Baritone...soprano...bass...mezzo-soprano...
Where were the tenors...
"Ah, I'm sorry to ask you but do you have any idea where the tenor books are? I can't seem to find any," he said as he looked over at the girl, he didn't expect her help but it would be nice and it might make that tense, kinda awkward air a bit better.

Oh great, she knew she'd get that kind of reaction from the boy. Stupid nervousness! She wanted to be able to reach out to people, not trip over her words or anything silly like that. She shuffled her feet a little, still holding the paper in her hand as she stared at the polished, wooden floor beneath her. She could see the glare of the light reflection off the surface.
She glanced up when he mentioned what he came into the choir room to do, tenor books? Now she was sure they weren't over there. Teal coloured eyes watched the boy. "O..oh, yes, they're over.. here," She replied, guiding the boy over to the correct location of the tenor books, forgetting that the lyrics she had struggled to come up with were in plan view for him to see now.

Klaus followed the girl towards where the tenor books were, a wave of appreciation washed over him. Ahhh, thank goodness! It would be crazy if someone stole them or something, turns out he just forgot where they were.
"Thank you," Klaus said, the gratitude very sincere and warm. He looked through the books for one that he didn't have back in his room and then he finally came across a good one full of amazing classical music. Briefly, when he was pulling the book out though he caught sight of what the girl scribbled on her paper. It looked like poetry...but since she was in the choir room -
"Song writing?" He asked, though he averted his gaze from the paper as quickly as possible and up to the girl's face. He didn't read much, just the first line.

A more confident smile crept onto Elise's face as she was appreciated for her help. It worked for a good moment or two before her natural personality sunk in again, her body feeling numb, it was like meeting Leon all over again. Except.. Leon was more abrupt and she wasn't crying, and she really hoped she could keep her emotions together until he left before any tears even thought about falling.
When Klaus mentioned song writing, she jerked her arm up, holding the pad paper close to her chest so he couldn't see it. It was more of a reflex than her not wanting him to see them. "Y-yes.. I enjoy writing... lyrics," She hugged the paper close, her gaze falling to the side, "But I was having.. a bit of trouble... as you can see," She lifted a thin hand to raise her index finger and point at her pile of screwed up balls of paper scattered around where she sat previously.

Klaus just barely caught her more confident smile, but he only saw it for a second. Wow, where did that come from? However, it flattered quickly and she pulled the pad close to her chest. His gaze followed her finger over towards the crumpled pieces of paper, but then he looked back at her.
"I could try to help if you'd like," he blurted out, though he as an afterthought he added more. "Well...maybe not with the actual song writing, but the melody and singing I could try to help with. If you'd like that is," he finished, keeping his warm smile. It would be nice to help someone else who liked music (though in his case it was a love), though he wasn't sure how this girl would respond. She seemed so...eh, frail? She was shy, he was sure of that.

Help her?
Elise swallowed, she hadn't thought about getting help from anyone. Besides, she knew this boy didn't quite understand what she meant by having trouble. It was just this atmosphere, she preferred to be in a closed off room where no one could bother her, no one would barge in or stumble across her.
She personally hated it when people found her crying. However, his elaboration on what he meant by help caught her interest. She did like to put music to her lyrics sometimes but it wasn't really her forte. "Well.. If you want to... I guess we could," She spoke softly, a small smile creeping onto her lips to show she was happy about the proposal. "I'm.. I'm not very good at.. singing though... but I do like it," She continued, trailing off as she slowly loosened her grip on the pad she had held so tightly to her chest.
With a mental sigh, she glanced down at the writing on the white paper, "Would you like to read them..?"

Her smile was reliving, thank god he decided to elaborate. If Klaus wanted to be honest he couldn't really write songs that well or compose, though he did work on some violin compositions before...he'd need to fine-tune them with his tutor when he got back to the Netherlands for the break.
"Singing isn't about innate talent, it's about skill," he stated simply, to him anyone could sing if they tried hard enough. Klaus was just more musically inclined since he grew up with it was all, and after practicing so much he developed a wide range, his falsetto could hit very, very high if he tried hard enough, too!
He stopped at her question and tried to think. Did he want to see it? "If you're comfortable with it. It's not done though...so it might be hard for me to judge anything," he said, with a very light laugh at the end. "Do you have any idea of what kind of melody you want to put it to though?"

Elise thought about what he meant and discovered that he had a point, there were only a handful of people who actually had natural singing talents and even then, they didn't go very far. She nodded, smiling more brightly up to him as she silently agreed with his statement.
I cannot hold on, I will not let go, Worthless, it's over now, Guilty, there's no way out.
The lyrics flowed into her head freely and she clicked her pen down, scribbling them down underneath the other two verses before glancing up at Klaus.
Did she really want to show someone her work? She hadn't shown anyone before. There was a first time for everything.. it wouldn't hurt to just give him a peek... "Though it isn't.. completely finished... I don't mind showing you.." She handed him the paper, her eyes fell to the side as she thought about his question. "I'm not sure about the melody.. do you have any suggestions?" Once he read what she had written down, she thought maybe it would give him a better idea of what kind of music could go with it.
