APPEARANCE DETAILS
Appearance:
Liliana stands at about five feet tall, a little short for her age, with a small frame. She doesn’t stand out in a crowd and that’s something she’s very pleased with. Her light brown (almost a dark blonde) hair falls to about her mid-back with bangs that brush over her forehead and some pieces of hair in the front that fall down to her collarbone. Her eyes are a bright blue, though there is a dull quality to them from the hard life she’s had to face. Her skin is rather pale, like she doesn’t get much sun.
Clothing Style:
Liliana doesn’t dress to stand out. Softer colors are what she goes for, ranging in pale whites, pinks, and blues. She wears tank tops often beneath her shirts, since a lot of her shirts are wide collared or a little baggy. She normally wears jeans because she’s shy about showing off her legs. When she wears her uniform, she wears knee length socks to cover up as much of her legs as possible. She usually wears sneakers, but it’s not uncommon for her to wear a pair of sandals with her jeans.
Special Accessories:
+Cross Necklace
PERSONALLY
Over-all Personality:
Liliana is one of the quietest people a person will ever meet, because she doesn’t talk. She keeps to herself a lot and doesn’t try to branch out to meet people. She’s a very shy person and doesn’t mind the isolation and solitude that her silence brings about her. Because of her isolation, she often flinches away from others who try to befriend her. She communicates with words through writing, not trusting her voice to convey her message.
Her true passion rests in dancing. It is her only real way to communicate and show her true emotions. It was the only thing that she didn’t give up after the accident, even though she had to stop dancing for a short period while she recovered after the accident. She dances to relieve stress and to keep herself from going completely insane, and she finds it the best type of therapy. Along with dancing, she also enjoys to cook and sew, making little things for those she cares for (usually just her aunt).
Next to that, she has a hobby for bird watching, bird feeding, and searching for butterflies. It’s the only time she really enjoys being outside. She envies the freedom of birds and the beauty of butterflies, and dreams that she could one day spread her wings and be free from her pain.

BACKGROUND
History:
Liliana Celestina (more commonly known as just Liliana) was born in mid-October to Emilio Espinosa-Carlos and his wife, Adriana Flores-Rodriquez, in Ciudad de Leon, Spain. She was their first and only child and she lived a relatively normal childhood. From birth, she was taken to church with her parents, and when she reached the age where she could speak fluent (for a kid) Spanish, she was enrolled in little classes at the church to further her young education. During her time at the church, she learned more Spanish, as well as began to study English.
In first grade, Liliana met Lucas Vásquez. They were in the same children’s church group at school, but they hadn’t really started to talk and interact until they met in school. Because little kids make friends fast, they were easily best friends and spent a lot of their time together. They did have other friends, but Lucas and Liliana were inseparable.
While in elementary school, Liliana took up dancing. She went to the local community center three times a week for dance lessons, and performed in all of the church dances throughout the years. She loved dancing and she would try to get Lucas to dance with her, but he thought it was a girlie thing and was more interested in trying to get Liliana to play soccer with him. They sometimes had little fights over that difference, but always made up five minutes later. Liliana’s passion for dance never faded, and she always enjoyed doing it.
For her tenth birthday, Liliana received one of the best presents. She had nearly forgotten all about her birthday with her big dance recital coming up and she was so nervous and busy with rehearsing. But then, Lucas came to her house one evening after she returned from rehearsal and he gave her a beautiful golden cross necklace with a diamond center. She was so happy and touched that he remembered, so she hugged him tight and gave him a big kiss on his cheek. That birthday was her most favorite and most treasured memory.
However, the happiness could not last forever. Liliana was eleven years old and it was the summer before she and Lucas would be starting secondary school. Liliana and her parents were in a car together, coming home from a family gathering, when they were hit by a semi-truck. Liliana’s parents were killed from the impact, and Liliana was badly injured. Her legs, right arm, and some ribs were broken, she had a fracture in her skull, and her neck nearly snapped. Because of the trauma to her neck, she had temporarily lost her voice.
Liliana was in the hospital for a year. During this time, her aunt had been in charge of getting custody of Liliana, as she was Liliana’s godmother, chosen by Liliana’s mother. Liliana’s aunt, Zarita, told Liliana that once she left the hospital, she wouldn’t be able to go to school in Ciudad de Leon because Zarita had a job on T’zen Island and could only stay in Ciudad de Leon until Liliana was well enough to be transferred to the hospital on T’zen Island. Liliana sent a single letter to Lucas to tell him that there had been an accident and that she would be moving. She didn’t tell him what hospital she was in at the time, because she felt it would be too painful to leave if he visited her.
Liliana went to T’zen Island with her aunt and has lived there with Zarita since then. For a year, Liliana went through physical therapy to help her move again, and when she was well enough to move and function normally, she was enrolled at the T’zenshin Institute. Because of the trauma she suffered, and all the bad things that happened, Liliana preferred not speaking, becoming a voluntary mute.
She is now a ninth year at T’zenshin.
Secrets:
After a terrible car accident when she was twelve, Liliana was left temporarily paralyzed and had to go through a year of physical therapy before she could move without trouble. She still can’t move as well as she did before she accident, but she can move enough that it doesn’t make too much of a difference. Occasionally, she’ll have some muscle problems that prevent her from dancing, and that make it hurt to move. She uses dancing as her form of physical therapy since she left the hospital.
Along with that, the physical and emotional trauma from the accident have left her as a voluntary mute. At first, the accident had left her unable to physically speak and she had to go through therapy sessions to work with her vocal chords again, but once she was able to speak again, she simply didn’t. She remembered the horrible things of the accident, and she felt that she just couldn’t bring herself to speak any more.
Gift:
Liliana has an incredible gift for dancing, but it’s not a gift that would put her in a special class.
