APPEARANCE DETAILS
Appearance:
Henri is kind of small, though some consider him to be average for being twelve years old. He stands at about 4'10" and is considered a bit underweight, weighing only about 90 pounds and he has quite a thin figure. He has spent a lot of his life indoors since he often spent it either with his older sister, his nannies, his doctor, or his trainer, so he is quite pale, though he does have some color in more recent years since he has gotten some sun while attending T'zenshin. His hair is similar to his sister's, though instead of being ash-blond, his hair takes on more of a honey-blond color. It falls to the base of his neck in the back with bangs that fall over his forehead, though they part in the middle, with some hair framing his face down half his jaw. His eyes are significantly different from Nicolette's, being dark chocolate brown. In his left ear, he often wears a small, silver hoop earring, though he'll sometimes switch it out for something more subtle.
In his dog form, he is about two feet tall when standing on four legs. His fur is black and quite thick, though on the top of his head, there are a few spots between his tall ears that are white, which are a little odd, but it's how he is.
Clothing Style:
Henri wears a couple types of different clothing. He enjoys wearing slightly large white button-ups with dress pants and black shoes, sometimes even having the shirt unbuttoned when he's feeling too warm. He's not afraid to show how thin he is or how pale he is. When he's not in that sort of attire, he wears a black outfit, which consists of a black tanktop and black pants with a couple of belts (one to keep his pants up and the other just for fashion) at his hips, with black shoes or boots and a large, black trench coat, which he sometimes zips up during the winter.
Special Accessories:
A skull necklace he wears around his neck. This necklace was made from the skull of an ancient dog demon and the blood that it is blessed with helped ease the pain of Henri's transformation from human to dog.
PERSONALLY
Over-all Personality:
Henri is a very difficult person to describe. He shares some traits his sister has, like being a bit shy and often speaking quite formally, but he also has this sort of sarcastic air around him. Often times he angers people with the way he speaks as he is a very honest person and is not afraid to let others know what he thinks. He is a bit mischevious and isn't afraid to cause a little bit of trouble, but often times he is able to smooth talk himself out of trouble.
He tries to be active, but it wasn't until he attended T'zenshin that he was able to really break free from his shell, especially when he realized he was quite fond of tennis. He admires those who play the sport and wishes to one day be part of it. But his true passion is music. Listening to it, creating it, playing it, everything having to do with music. He absolutely loves it with his every fiber since it was the only form of release and escape that he had when his parents would shut him and his sister away and especially after the divorce and when Nicolette went to T'zenshin.

BACKGROUND
History:
Henri Émile De la Fontaine was born on the 14th of July in the year 1999, six months before the new millennium, to Charlee and Mathieu De la Fontaine in London, England, a little over five years after his older sister, Nicolette De la Fontaine. He was born into quite a wealthy family. Charlene received a great sum of inheritance money when her father passed away in 1990. They moved into her parents' house later that year and Charlene began to attend law school. Mathieu was a thriving salesman who was working hard to earn his way to the top. Four years after that, Matheiu was up to being an assistant of a very powerful CEO whose business travelled internationally.
The following summer, after Nicolette had turned five, Henri was born. Shortly after his birth, Mathieu received a promotion to become a the CEO of the company's French Branch over in Paris, France. With the money they'd been getting, they were able to afford a large house in Paris, a house large enough not only to fit the family, but Nicolette's trainer, tutor, and doctor, who had come with them because of the incredible salary they'd be getting and they would be allowed a free room and free food and such.
However, during their time in France, only trouble brewed. Charlene and Mathieu had begun to fight frequently. It was often about how Mathieu was always away for work and how Charlene would always have to leave the children with a nanny while she was in school. Charlene graduated from law school when Nicolette was seven years old and Henri was two years old, having taken a few extra years when they moved to France. However, it was shortly after her graduation that Charlene and Mathieu filed for divorce.
The family was going to be torn apart.
At first, Nicolette and Henri were separated. Charlene took Henri back to England with her and Nicolette stayed with her father in France. It was also at this time that Nicholette and Henri's last names took on the hyphanated verison, becoming De la Fontaine-Verity. Henri was raised by his mother for the next two years, not even really knowing that he had a father and a sister off in another country. It was also at this time that he began to learn to play the piano, even though he was at a young age.
After two years, when Nicolette was nine and Henri was four, Charlene and Mathieu agreed to begin to send the children back and forth between France and England so they would be able to see both their parents and be together as siblings. Wherever Nicolette went, her trainer, tutor, and Heidi would follow, and a year passed where the children would spend two months with Charlene and two months with Mathieu. It was also during this time that Heidi and Fen, the trainer, began to notice a change within Henri. They had discovered he could also produce a bit of pyrokenisis. They were puzzled at how both children were able to use this power, but Fen did her best to help him control his power, even though he was at a young age.
Then, Mathieu remarried. Her name was Gabrielle. They had met during one of the months that Nicholette and Henri had been with their mother, during the summer, and they were married by winter. This caused some emotional grief for Charlene and the children were not allowed to go back to their father's for quite some time. However, Charlene spent a lot more time with her work, leaving her children with Heidi and various nannies. This continued on for six months until Mathieu and Gabrielle came to England to retrieve the children. At first, Charlene was furious and refused to even let them in the door. But Mathieu convinced her to hear him out.
Nicolette would be turning twelve and she would be going to middle school. Mathieu told Charlene about T'zenshin Institute, which was a school that would provide training for the gifted and held grades seven through twelve. It took a lot of coaxing, but they agreed on it. January arrived and Nicolette was on a plane to T'zen Island, leaving Henri to start moving back and forth between France and England.
During the time that his sister was away, Henri, age seven, felt isolated from his family. When he spent time at his father's, all he would do was lock himself in his bedroom. His step-mother, Gabrielle, decided it would be nice to give him a little CD player with a couple of CDs. He was a little hesitant, at first, to listen to the sorts of music she gave him, but when he finally did listen to him, he absolutely fell in love. The classic music and the sound of the piano caused him to fly through his imagination and he wanted so badly to play the piano more often. He emerged from his shell in his room to escape into the art room of the house where the grand piano sat and he began to quietly play, trying to play music by ear rather than find music to play to.
It was also during the time his sister was away that he first started to learn to shift. He woke one morning with half his body covered in black fur. He wasn't entirely sure how it happened, and definitely freaked out the first time it happened. Fen Kwan, Nicolette's personal psychic trainer who specialized in special gifts, took interest in Henri's newly found ability and began to study him in order to see what caused this shift and how he could control it. She even left one weekend and returned the following Monday with a necklace she said she had retrieved from her hometown. The necklace was made from the skull of an ancient dog demon, as Fen believed that the fur that had randomly come and gone from Henri's body was the fur of a dog.
After a year, just before his sister left for T'zenshin for her second year of schooling, Henri was able to shift into the form of a black puppy. Nicolette believe it had to do with his loyalty to the family. He wasn't able to keep the form for too long, but being able to fully shift for a short amount of time was an accomplishment. He continued his training with Fen for many years to come.
During the time of training in shape shifting, he also frequently practiced piano. He loved to play the piano when he was at his father's house. However, when he was at his mother's house, he would often spend time watching television or reading. One day, he watched a sport channel just because he was feeling rather inactive and thought that watching the channel would give him some inspiration to go out and do something. He found that he quite enjoyed watching the sport of tennis and wondered if he'd ever be able to play such an interesting sport. He continued to keep a look out for tennis on television whenever he was sitting around, bored, at his mother's.
He will be attending his first year this year.
Secrets:
It could be because of his shifting into a dog, but Henri has a bit of a fear for cats. He finds them threatening and he gets really freaked out whenever there's a cat around. He thought it would just be he disliked them and wanted nothing to do with them, but it just happened that he had a genuine fear of them, maybe even before his first shiftings.
Gift:
He possesses a physical and a mental gift, though he majors in his physical gift. He is a shape shifter, though he cannot become whatever he pleases. Instead, he is able to shift into the form of a dog. Through this process, he must take most of his clothing off first in order to shift without worrying about ripping it. Usually just stripping of his shirt works as his pants and boxers are more flexible and he can kick out of them once he has shifted. He is only able to hold his form as a dog for about two hours at the longest and if he has hit his limit, he will shift back and be unable to shift into his second form for a total of twenty four hours.
His mental gift is pyrokenisis, which he developed not too long after his sister developed it. It was thought that they gained this ability with all the hardships and stress they'd been going through with the divorce of their parents, though it is really unknown why it really developed. Because of the little training he has received with it, it is quite weak, though depending on how he is feeling (emotionally), it can become a bit stronger with heavy emotions (such as extreme anger or pain). He has a decent control over it, enough to not use it unconsciously.
