Rai followed her over to the table she had chosen once he grabbed his tray of food. He set his tray down on the small table and gave Haruka as much room as he could, a simple bottle of coke was his beverage of choice and he twisted the cap, it releasing the semi loud hissing sound as he opened the bottle. He took a long drink before he set it down on the table to take a few fries into his mouth. Haruka wasn't being very talkative... "Are you.. alright?" He asked curiously.

Haruka was focusing on her food, not minding the silence. Had she been alone, she would sit quietly and possibly listen to her music player. But since she had company, she was sure it was considered rude to listen to music, so she decided against it. She slowly sipped her drink and was about to take a bit of her salad when Rai asked her a question. She took the bite and chewed quickly, swallowing before she spoke.
"Just thinking about home, really... It's been a few months since I've been home, though I'm sure not much has really changed." She gave a light shrug.

Rai had finished his fries by the time Haruka had started talking, he was feeling very hungry and this meal would only tie him over for a few hours and he was sure their flight might be a bit longer than that, but he wasn't sure.
"It'll... be alright, I'm here for you, kay?" He assured her, starting on his burger, hopefully she would accept his assistance this time.

Haruka looked up at him and gave him a weak smile before she turned her attention back to her salad.
She really hadn't spoken much about her home life, her childhood, or her family. All Rai would really know was that her grandparents called her back to Japan, if he had read the letter.

Rai took a large bite of his burger and tried to smile as best he could when Haruka smiled at him, he was glad to see her at least show a little bit of happiness about what he had said. He devoured his burger within a few more bites, not feeling ant intergestion at all. He swallowed his mouthful and moved to his coke, taking small sips here and there as he leaned back in his chair, looking at all the planes through the glass windows.
"Hmm... I wonder how Suri's doing.." He said to himself as he thought about his little sister. She was nearly old enough to join T'zenshin, even if she didn't have any gifts. Did she? She didn't when he left..

Haruka continued to munch on her salad, eating as quickly as she could. It was a very nice salad and she'd been very hungry from not eating much the past week. She took a few more fries and ate them before she took a sip of her drink, letting the liquid wash down her throat.
She looked up when Rai mentioned a name. She tilted her head to the side curiously. "Suri?"

The coke was fizzing a little as Rai slowly sipped at it frequently and he felt the fizzing feeling in the pit of his stomach but he didn't care, the liquid was refreshing and he loved coke to pieces. The question Haruka asked made him blink, did he say that out loud? Oops.
"Suri's my little sister, she's not quite old enough to go to this school yet," He was more concerned about his sister than his parents even though his parents were very kind to him, especially when he was younger and had gone through such a terrible time.

"Oh, you have a sibling? How old is she?"
This was something Haruka did not know. School files could only give so much information.... And the rest was something the was blind to. If she had been able to to read minds, then her job would be much easier. But she couldn't... She was just smart, but smarts didn't get you very far in a world full of magic and wonder...

Rai couldn't help but laugh at Haruka's question, she was so curious now, must have been something she didn't know. She had a file on almost everyone on the school campus but they only went so far.
"She should be 11 at the moment," So next year, on his final year, she would be turning up at the school, if his parents were planning on sending her here. He would put in a recommendation for it, she deserved to come here, where it was safe and she could meet some really neat people. "Don't you have any siblings?" They would have to start boarding the plane soon, it was nearing one forty-five.

Haruka gave a small little pout at the boy laughing at her, but let it slide for now as he answered her question. She gave a nod in acknowledgement before she brought her straw to her lips and took a long drink of her soda. She'd likely buy herself a bottle of soda before she boarded the plane, something to hold her over for the next few hours.
At his question, she glanced up, but merely shrugged and shook her head as she took another sip of soda. When she finished drinking, she opened her mouth to speak.
"I'm an only child." She replied simply. She took a few more bites of her salad, finishing it up before she took a few more fries and munched on them. She was a little hesitant about speaking about her family. Her grandparents were normal enough, but her parents were a bit of another story. She loved them dearly, but she didn't like to talk about them much.

Oh she was cute when she pouted. Rai flashed her a sweet smile as he sipped gently at his coke, watching the clock tick by, maybe he should grab a few more drinks to have on the plane and maybe some more food. Maybe they would have food on the plane... eh, drinks would be better. He wasn't looking forward to their bathroom's, though.
Rai nodded, but frowned a little, "Aah..." His eyes caught glimpse of the actual time and he rose from his seat, "We should get going, it's nearly quarter to," He picked up his carry on bag and returned to the fast food place to buy two more bottles of coke which he slipped into the bag and slung it over his shoulder. He then walked back over to Haruka, waiting for her to begin walking.

Haruka joined him up at the counter and bought herself a couple of Mountain Dews, putting them into her carry on before she turned to start walking toward the boarding area. She was quiet as she walked.
As they arrived at the gate, Haruka took her plane ticket out and showed it to the woman before she was escorted through the various security procedures. It wasn't long before she was seated on the plane, leaning back in her seat. She slipped her shoes off and brought them up next to her before she folded her legs on her seat.
She shut her eyes for a moment, letting out a deep sigh. She figured she should probably get a little bit of sleep so she wouldn't be totally drained when they landed.

Just after Haruka had shown the lady her ticket, Rai got his out and showed his to her, the lady gave him a small nod and he proceeded behind Haruka to board the plane. The plant had blue velvet looking carpet and seemed like a cross between business and the economy classes. He found his seat was beside Haruka and he sat next to her, leaning back and glanced around, taking in his surroundings.
He wasn't feeling tired but he wanted to try get some... normally flights were really draining when you sat there all that time without doing anything. Haruka was being rather quiet and had been most of the day, at times like these, he wished he didn't have his power so he could listen to an iPod or something but he opted for his iPod anyway, it had some cool games on it that could possibly keep him entertained for an hour or so.

The plane took off and Haruka eventually dozed off. Her head rest lightly against Rai's shoulder, and just by the simplest touch of the comforting boy, Haruka's mind was void of dreams, just like she liked it.
Hours flew by while the girl slept, and she didn't wake until the plane was landing and Rai was shaking her gently awake. She gave a small yawn and sat up, clumsily putting her shoes back on. It seemed she didn't need any of the stuff she had packed on her carry-on, which was just fine. She hadn't slept so well in quite a long while, so it was welcomed.
When the plane landed and they were released out into the terminal, Haruka could hear their native language everywhere. However, it was a little saddening because the two couldn't talk privately... Unless...
"If there is anything you wish to say to me, that you do not want others to overhear, then speak English. Basically, the opposite of what we do on T'zen Island." She said quietly to him in English before she turned to look around the crowded area.
She finally spotted Ryotaro and Yukari Amagi and she took Rai's sleeve, tugging him to follow behind her as she walked up to the elderly couple. She rose her hand up to motion to her grandparents.
"Rai-kun, these are my grandparents, Amagi Yukari and Amagi Ryotaro." She then motioned to Rai. "Grandmother, Grandfather, this is my friend from school, Aikaryu Rai. He offered to come with me to Japan since I was travelling alone. I do hope that's alright."
Yukari smiled warmly and gave a nod. "Of course, Ruka-chan. The more the merrier." In truth, she was just very happy to see her granddaughter have a friend.
"Shall we be going? I'm sure Ruka-chan and her friend are quite tired from their trip and need a good dinner and a full night's rest." Ryotaro said, smiling in his granddaughter's direction.
Haruka have a small nod. "That is fine... It would give us a chance to settle for the break."

A light blush spread across his cheeks as Haruka had fallen asleep on the plane, her head resting against his shoulder. He moved her gently to place an arm around her shoulder so it would be more comfortable for him. He kept his eyes on her, watching her sleep, a content smile on his lips, she was so peaceful...
Once a few hours had passed, he noticed their plane was beginning to land and he gently shook Haruka to wake her up, telling her they were landing. He stood up from his seat and stretched, his limbs feeling stiff from being in the same position for awhile.
They exited into the terminal where Haruka told him to speak in English when they wanted to speak privately, which he agreed to, it seemed logical and a little bit confusing, he was so used to speaking Japanese that it may take some getting used to.
Haruka led him along to where her grandparents were waiting. He felt relieved when her grandparents were alright with him tagging along, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Yukari-san, Ryotaro-san," He said as politely as he could. He kept quiet and nodded in agreement about the talk of dinner and sleep. Dinner sounded so good...
