The next time Kane said 'this is going to be fun, let's go,' Isley wasn't going to listen. Listening to his dear brother this time had ended him up in T'zen hospital with a broken arm. How, you ask? Simple. For a week, Kane had been egging him on disregard the rules for once and do something fun for once. Even in their childhood, Isley eventually always gave in when Kane teased him and tried to proved his brother wrong. Last night, that's just what he tried to do. In middle of the night, while it was against the rules to leave the dorm unless it was an emergency, he and Kane snuck off campus and rode their bikes to Marl Peak to see 'a brilliant fire show,' Kane had said.
A brilliant fire show, indeed. Whilst lighting his fire crackers/explosives up from a 'safe' distance, Kane somehow forgot that he had planted a lot more along the shrouded hiking trail the following day. At the last minute, he had realized his error, and tried to heroically shove Isley out of the way as bombs went off... Unfortunately, Isley tripped off the hiking trail altogether and went rolling down a rocky hill where he broke his arm. Kane sustained a nasty burn for his heroic deeds, however.
When he regained conciousness, Kane had already hidden their bikes and had hitched them a ride back into town on a locale's truck. At the hospital, they swore that Isley falling down the stairs in the dorm, and Kane getting burned in the kitchen at the same time was merely a coincidence. If anyone found out the truth, then they'd both be in so much trouble, especially since Isley's on the Student Council! It was a good thing Kane stopped the locale who drove them there from staying too long.
Sitting in a hospital bed, Isley sighed and stared down at his new arm cast. He was still wearing the same clothes from last night, which were now a little tattered and torn. He was also covered in a few scratches and bruises here and there from his fall down the hill. Luckily, a very nice nurse had come back and given him pain-killers a while earlier, and they were kicking in just fine now.

Her first day of class had gone by rather smoothly. That afternoon, she had taken roll for her class, calling out the names in a loud, clear voice for her choir students. She played a name game with them in order to help her learn their names, and for them to learn the names of students they might not have met before. They used various scales in order to play the game, like singing a C-scale any saying each person's name in their row as a different note of the scale.
She had been glad her students had liked it. And, of course, her students loved Cherish. The little girl couldn't be left at home alone, and the Headmaster had given her permission to bring in her daughter so long as she didn't become a distraction. She sat quietly, and occasionally would hum along with the scales.
However, as her orchestra class began and she took role, she discovered a name that struck her hard. She didn't make it noticable that she was surprised, but Isley's name was clear as day on the sheet. The odd thing, though, was the fact that the boy wasn't in class. At the end of the class, a student from Student Council brought a slip to her, one that said that Isley Black would have to be excused from the orchestra class for the next few weeks due to injury.
Worried at this, she took the slip up to the office, where they told her that Isley Black was in the hospital for a broken arm. Without any hesitation (considering her classes were done for the day), she left school, carrying Cherish in her arms, and made her way to the T'zen Hospital. She went to the front desk and asked for Isley Black's room number, which she was given.
So now, she stood outside his hospital room, taking in deep breaths. She had hoped that their first meeting would have been easier... The last place she had expected them to meet was the hospital. She set Cherish down and the little girl walked curiously to the door. She pushed it open gently and walked inside, her eyes brightening when she saw her father in the bed.
"Daddy!" The girl cried out, running to the bedside. She climbed on top of it and gave her father a big hug, careful not to disturb his arm.
Taking a deep breath, Bonnie Kendall turned the corner and entered the room, a calm smile resting on her lips.

His right arm, from his elbow to his wrist was now immobilized in a white thick cast. He had somehow fractured both his wrist and forearm as the doctor told him, and now he was sporting a very plain sling the hospital provided. As soon as the doctor or nurse returned after making calls and pulling up his information, he was expecting to be discharged with some sort of prescription. Upon getting out of the hospital, Isley had already decided to return back to class (tomorrow after he's had a proper rest, of course). Sure, it was uncomfortable, but he'd be damned if a little thing like breaking his arm was going to force him into a summer school graduation.
Isley looked up expecting to see a nurse or a doctor, but was very surprised to see his daughter, Cherish run into the room and then Bonnie follow shortly after. He didn't think news could travel that fast... No, it was impossible. They had to already be on the island to arrive this fast. He honestly didn't think Bonnie was the type to fly all the way from Britain to here just to visit. Nevertheless, he couldn't be happier to see them.
He held back a wince when the toddler bounced on top of the bed to hug him. He grinned and wrapped his free arm around her. "Cherri!" Normally, upon seeing her, (when he returned home), he would spin her around or toss her up and catch her, but since those involved the mobility of both of his arms, he settled on tickling her sides with his free hand. "You get cuter every time I see you!"
He looked over to woman who his daughter resembled the most and only smiled wider. "Why hello there, Bon-bon," he said, using the nickname in a teasing way. "I hope you didn't fly all the here from Britain just to see me. You should have called first." Whatever the case of their arrival, he was still excited to see both of them.

Cherish gave a giggle as she snuggled the older male, lying down next to him while he turned his attention to her mother. Bonnie wrinkled her nose at the nickname, though it wasn't out of bother or annoyance; it was an instinct, because she smiled as soon as she did it. She walked to his bedside, placing a slender hand on the bar of the bed.
"I would have given you more advanced notice if I hadn't been using that time to pack up most of mine and Cherish's things." She said, bringing her other hand to gently ruffle Cherish's hair. "I was offered a job at the T'zenshin Institute, to be their orchestra teacher and temporary chior teacher, which is why I know why you weren't in class today." She brought her hand from Cherish's hair and brought it up to run gently through Isley's hair.
"What in the world did you do to your arm, Honey?"

Isley placed an arm around loosely around Cherish as she snuggled against him. He blinked and looked back to Bonnie surprised for a moment. "You're working at T'zenshin now?" He repeated, not quite meaning to ask the question, since it was already answered. First, she was his babysitter, then became the mother of his child, and now she's going to be his teacher. Isley wasn't sure whether to joke about it or be worried. "That's great. I'm happy that you've found a job that you want, but are you sure this is the best career move?" He asked, frowning slightly as to show his concern. He cared for Bonnie deeply and didn't want to discourage her, but surely she had to know the risks...
He glanced down to his fractured right arm again and then back to Bonnie. "What did I do? This is all Kane's doing. He shoved me... Down a stairwell." Isley grumbled in annoyance at the thought of his brother. It wasn't the first time he had ended up needing medical care after spending quality time with his brother. In their childhood, they had enough misadventures to fill a book with and Bonnie was there attempting to look after them through half of it.

Bonnie gave a small frown at his question. Was this the best career move? It almost sounded as if he didn't want her at the school at all. Did he have something to hide? Probably not... They were usually pretty honest with each other, though she did have to wonder if the past few years had changed him. She mentally shook those thoughts from her mind and pressed her lips together crisply before she spoke.
"The Institute is offering me much more than the Academy back in England. They give me more money and give me a free place to live so long as I am teaching. I don't see how this could be something bad."
Cherish took her father's uninjured hand and began to play with his fingers while her parents spoke.
At the mention of Isley's reckless brother, Bonnie couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Why does that not surprise me?" She asked dryly. "I swear, that boy is going to be the death of you if you aren't more careful." She brought her hand up to gently run through his hair again.

The moment Bonnie began to speak again, Isley knew he said something wrong or perhaps she mistook his words. He withheld a sigh. As long as no one at the institute caught wind, then it wouldn't be too bad at all. Plus, he'd at least be able to see Cherish a lot more with them living on the island. Another brightside to the situation was that Bonnie had come to the island in the first place. Certainly, she wouldn't just move to a strange island with Cherish for just the prospect of a good job and free place to live, right? It had to be because he was here and Isley was sure of it. Maybe he was being a little too self-confident, but he didn't care.
He smiled briefly at Bonnie's reaction to him speaking of his brother. He looked down to Cherish and sighed. "He's very persistent. He'll blow himself up alone if I don't go along with him." He said, not quite meaning to defend himself or Kane. He already knew the dangers of going along with Kane for 'fun times.'
Though he quite enjoyed it when Bonnie ran her hand through his hair, he brought his hand up to hers to hold it. "I wasn't saying that you working at the Institute is a bad thing. Honestly, I would love to see you everyday, however.. Couldn't it possibly ruin your career if it was found out that you and I.. I'm a student there, Bonnie." He said and hoped to get his point across this time.

A small pout-like frown slipped onto Bonnie's lips and she laced her fingers gently with Isley's as he held her hand and she gave a small roll of the eyes at his words.
"That is the least of your worries, Sweetheart. Yes, you are a student, but we don't have an active relationship. If anything, we can pull it off as my maternal instinct, which I clearly have." She made a motion toward Cherish with her free hand. "But I don't want our relationship as close friends to change just because you're afraid I might get fired. Believe me, I've seen worse around this school."
She leaned forward and pressed her lips gently against his temple before she stood straight, her hand still gently clutching to his. Cherish snuggled Isley's side, leaning her head sleepily against his chest.

Her classes had finished for the day and Faye had only just gotten in the door to her dormitory when she received note that her current boyfriend; Isley Black, the Historian for the Student Council, was in hospital. For a broken arm. Panicky, she ran into her room and threw her uniform off, dumping it in the corner of her room and slipped on a creamy white dress that fell a few inches above her knees, it had a thick black ribbon belt that sat just under her bust. She slipped on the closest pair of black flats and grabbed her bag that had her cell phone, wallet and other various items it and left her dormitory.
It was a long-ish walk to the T'zenshin Island Hospital, but Faye made sure she made it shorter than it should have been, walking briskly down the hallway and out into the lobby, down a few streets and into the main part of the town. Within ten minutes or so she was nearing the hospital, her legs were hurting in the calf muscle but she got there as quickly as she could. Nearly limping into the main foyer of the hospital, she walked up to the reception, asking for Isley Black's room that he was allocated to. She was quickly informed and she headed through the double doors, taking in the scent of anesthetic and cleanliness.
Going to the correct ward, she finally found Isley room, but someone else... well some other people were in there. She overheard a part of the conversation, about a.. relationship? Teacher and student? Her heart skipped a few beats and she felt a weird churning in her stomach. It had to be.. nothing, right? Yeahp, absolutely nothing. Isley was with her. She slowly pushed the door open, poking her head in, "Isley?"

Maternal instinct, close friends, of course, Isley thought bitterly as Bonnie explained. If he was confused about his relationship with Bonnie before, now it had just doubled. Their relationship had always been this way. How could he think for one second that things had perhaps changed or was different on her end? He was always going to be the kid she used to babysit, or the close friend she had given herself to in a moment of weakness. If Bonnie thought that they could really pass their relationship off as strictly platonic like a big sister or mother hen type, then clearly, he hadn't a snowball's chance in hell... Isley knew he had to move on.
"Don't roll your eyes at me, you're going to teach Cherri a bad habit." Isley scolded and hesitantly removed his hand from Bonnie's to pet the toddler's hair. "Very well then, I just wanted to know if you were sure about this." He said, mirroing the pout that was on Bonnie's lips. He blushed faintly when she pressed a kiss to his temple. He wished she'd stop being so affectionate if she wanted this supposed platonic relationship to work out between the two of them. "Of course it won't change." He said referring to their relationship.
He looked up once again surprised to have another visitor, and his current girlfriend at that, at the door. "Faye, hello, come in." He said and then promptly realized he should introduce them. He glanced to Bonnie and then to Cherish. "This is my.. Cousin, Bonnie, and her daughter, Cherish." He said smoothly. He then glanced to Bonnie and smiled pleasantly before he spoke. "Bonnie, this is Faye... My girlfriend."

Girlfriend.
The word caused Bonnie's blood to run cold and her heart to stop for just a moment.
Girlfriend.
Isley had moved on, and Bonnie was left behind.
Girlfriend.
Bonnie gave a warm smile in Faye's direction, masking all of her pain. She took a step away from Isley's side and brought one hand to tuck some hair behind her ear as she brought her other hand out to shake Faye's hand when she got close enough.
Keep up a facade... Pretend everything's okay. And so she did. She kept up her smile, her voice filled with warmth as she spoke. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Faye bought every lie that Isley said and smiled towards this... Bonnie, maybe she had just misheard before about the teacher and student relationships, yeah, she must have. She was really pretty and her daughter was just precious~! "It's nice to meet you, too, Bonnie," She said happily, a radiant smile spreading across her lips. She flashed Cherish a quick smile before she walked closer to Isley, bringing up a thin hand to place it on his shoulder softly.
"Now, how did you do this?" She asked curiously, she was really worried about him. "I never took you as the type to be so clumsy," The clumsy bit was a dig at herself. The smell of anaesthetic was getting to her, making her feel a spot of nausea but she ignored it as best she could. She leaned in and gave him a gentle hug.

Isley watched Bonnie out of the side of his eye for a few moments. He knew he could have said things differently, he could have been less blunt, or even skirted around the truth, but a part of not wanting to hide anything from her, he wanted to find any sort of reaction, any twitch that could tell him anything about how she felt, and he had. Certainly, Bonnie was a great actress, but he had been right next to her when she had broken down about her exhusband and right now, he could tell she was bluffing. He just knew it, and no matter how selfish it was, he had never been so happy to see her sad... Though, he sort of regretted it now.
He looked back to Faye and smiled like he was happy to see her. He was, really, he liked Faye, otherwise, he wouldn't be dating her. "Bonnie's a new teacher at school now. I think Ms. Kendall's more appropriate now." He said and glanced down to his right arm when Faye mentioned it. He shrugged slightly and replied, "I fell down some stairs at the dormitory. I wasn't paying attention. Maybe you and your clumsiness are rubbing off on me." He returned her hug briefly, enjoying the scent of her sweet shampoo as he did. "Thanks for coming, but you didn't have to, really. I'm perfectly fine, and I think I'm being discharged soon, too... Whenever that doctor comes back."

The moment Faye let go of her hand, Bonnie took note of how the girl move passed her to go to Isley's side. With Faye's back turned to her, the hand she had shook Faye's hand with clenched into a tight fist and she shook slightly, though she worked hard to keep her mask up; she couldn't lose it now. Not until she was alone in her apartment...
Cherish snuggled close to Isley as she napped, her tiny hands clutching gently at his tattered shirt.

Faye blushed faintly as she found out that 'Bonnie' was a school teacher at the T'zenshin Institute, obviously a new one since this was the first time Faye had seen her. Perhaps she taught a class Faye didn't take. Must do...
"A-ah, sorry," She said as she turned to Ms. Kendall, "I didn't realise," She took no notice of the clenched fist Ms. Kendall had formed and averted her attention back onto her boyfriend; Isley. Her fingers wandered down his arm, brushing over the fibre glass cast, it was rough and bare. She would have to sign it soon!
However, his mention of her clumsiness rubbing off on him made her worry, "Oh no! That's not good at all..." Maybe she shouldn't spend so much time with him, then he'd be safe~. Wait, what was she thinking...? That was a silly idea. Besides, she wouldn't be able to handle it, she enjoyed being close with Isley. Although, she was a little puzzled as to why his cousin's daughter was all snuggled up with him. They must have been qutie close. "I came down to see if you were alright, what kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn't worry about your safety? Besides, I wanna be the first to sign your cast~" She wondered if she had a permanent marker around...
