Jing laughed a little again when Adrian spoke sounding mock irritated at the memory of Jing's character trying to rob his. He touched his mouse, too, to prevent his screen saver from coming on. His game always got buggy after he let it sit alone too long. "Yes, I'm stalking you and waiting until I get strong enough, so I can mug you and take my revenge!" He said, furrowing his eyebrows and frowning to attempt a vengeful expression. "Prepare yourself, Ciix." He'd always wanted to say that.
He dropped the act and smiled again. "Yeah, kinda, but I haven't been able to play a lot in the last couple of weeks." He touched his mouth and started guiding his player around the town he was in, in game. "I just started playing like a couple months ago."

As he listened to Jing speak, he moved his character around, looking for something to fight so he could level up a little. He had been meaning to do that earlier but he was busy making an apple pie with Jing. He didn't mind though, it was nice to come out of his shell and have a good conversation with his room mate. Besides, they found something they both enjoyed doing. Playing MMORPG's. "Good luck," Was all he said to Jing wanting revenge for when his character, Ciix, had killed his for trying to mug him recently.
"I started not long after it came out, haha," He felt like such a nerd when he said that. In fact, to stop feeling like a nerd, he stopped himself from saying that he played frequently. Frequently being every day after school until at least three o'clock in the morning. He reached over for his dinner, taking the last few bites left on the plate before he rose from the couch to place the plate on the bench for washing. He then took a glance through the oven glass to see how the pie was doing, not that he would know if it was ready or not and came back to sit down to continue playing.

Jing steered his character around the town and smirked. He'd just completed a quest and finally leveled up. "Thanks, but I don't need luck, I need..." Jing stared at his laptop for a few moments. "I need more more, so I can buy more equipment. My job is expensive!"
He nodded when Adrian spoke again, feeling a little jealous. "I wanted to.. Or at least tried to play when it came out, but my laptop was stalling and crashing like crazy, so I had to get a new graphic's card, and other new software and all that. It was friggin' expensive, but worth it." He had to dip into his savings just to upgrade his laptop to the stupid game. He couldn't ask his step father to pay for it, since the man would probably figure out that he wasn't using it for school anyway and Jing didn't like lying to him. "Hey Adrian, where are you from?" He asked, knowing the question was a little random.

Adrian continued to guide his character around the area in the game, trying to decide which quest to do first... there was not many left for him to complete at his current level but they all looked tedious. Oh well, he'd have to do them at some point. He clicked on the information link to see what one of them was about. A window popped up with what he needed to complete the quest. "Yeah, but I sell a lot of my stuff..." His inventory was running a little low, but he had shit loads of money.
"When I got my laptop, I made sure it had a wicked graphics card in it so I could play these.. I didn't pay for it, though," He didn't exactly have a job or anything to pay for it. His... so called parents did instead. Adrian blinked at Jing's random question, "Originally Norway... but I moved to M.. Mon..tana, America when I was little.." He already assumed Jing came from China, so there was so need to return the question. Also, the thought of Montana caused his mind to reflect back on his past... pain surged through his mind and images of everyone's faces when they saw what he did, what his parents did... He wanted it to go away... where were his pills? His room.. like always, safe and hidden from others' eyes.
Without a word, he shot up from the couch and went into his room, closing the door abruptly behind him. He couldn't believe the slightest reminder of his past was causing him to have a mental breakdown. After leaning against his door for a few moments, he frantically rummaged through his school bag where he found a small bottle of sleeping pills. There was a glass of water on his bed side table from last night since he had gotten thirsty. He didn't care how old the water was, he took two pills from the bottle and swallowed them, using the water to aid. The moment he felt them slide down his throat, he felt his mind and body numb over with a coat of shivers. He saw no more images... no thoughts, nothing about his past.

Jing studied his own screen as he quickly maneuvered his player in the game. A moment ago, he just sneak attacked another player and successfully mugged him/her. As usual the other player wasn't pleased, and he was quite sure the other player was cursing him out in another language right now, but he had no idea what language it was. It looked like Spanish or something.
"Lucky you, I had no idea what a graphic's card was before I wanted to play this game." Despite constantly playing around on computers, Jing knew little about its inner workings, and always had to seek advice from help lines or other computer nerds he knew of in school. So Adrian was sort of computer geek, too, huh? Great, if things went well, he could go to Adrian for computer help. He couldn't pass this chance up. "Norway? So, you're German?" He asked. While Adrian probably guessed he was from China, he couldn't really guess which part of the world Adrian was from just by looking at him, so he was curious. He glanced over to the other boy when he sort of started stuttering and quickly noticed his change in demeanor.
He watched Adrian leave to his room again and shut the door behind him this time. That was weird. Clearly, it was a little different from when Adrian got up to go and get his laptop. Adrian looked excited then, since he was telling Jing he played BaS, too, but this time... Jing stared blankly at his laptop. Maybe it was something he said. He at least knew Adrian was coming back because he had left his laptop on the coffee table. At the scent of the apple pie wafting from the kitchen, Jing got up and went into the kitchen to take the apple pie out of the oven. The crust was now golden brown, and sweet, bubbling juice was starting to ooze out of the slits of the top crust. He set the pie on top of the stove and then turned off oven.
"Hey, Adrian, the pie's ready if you want any! It has to cool though.." He said and looked over his shoulder towards Adrian's room. It was none of his business what Adrian was doing anyway. Maybe he just suddenly had to change his pants, (though Jing wasn't sure why he would need to), or maybe he had to take a shot from an inhaler. He went over and opened a window in the next room, since it suddenly felt to hot in the rom because of the oven.

His mind was completely numbed over within a few minutes, he felt better though he also felt a little sleepy but he'd get over that with some caffeine from his the soda he had gotten from the fridge earlier for dinner. He slowly made his way over to his desk and sat down on the office like chair, picking up the aluminium can to take a nice, long, refreshing drink out of it. The liquid was cool against his throat, it was the only thing he could feel.
Once he had finished, he decided to go back out to Jing, they had been talking so he didn't want to be that rude to him by not coming back out. Besides, he left his laptop out on the coffee table. He gingerly opened the door back up, seeing Jing in the kitchen saying that the apple pie was ready but needed to cool down. "Ah, o.. okay," He said quietly, similar tone of voice that he had used when he first started talking to Jing that night. He took a seat back down on the couch, his body sinking into the cushion slightly. He leaned forward and picked up his laptop, balancing it on his lap to play more.

Jing stood in front of the window to feel the breeze coming in for a few moments before going back to sit down on the couch. He moved his laptop to the coffee table, and slid down to sit on the floor in front of it. The bottom of his laptop was burning his lap, he seriously needed some cooling pads! As he played for the next minute or so, he glanced back to Adrian every now and then. "..You ok?" He knew he should probably just ignore it because it wasn't any of his business, but his conscious was making him feel otherwise.
If he knew anything about conversations, and how to talk to people, Jing figured that now was probably the best time to change the subject. As his player started killing some gruesome looking, clown monsters, Jing remembered something from his past. "Have you ever been to a circus? I went to one when I was like... Ten or eleven. I was terrified. There was a bunch of freakishly bendable weirdos in bright face paint and tight outfits. It wasn't a very good look for hairy, burly men." He said and shuddered a little at the thought. "When a clown tried to take me backstage, I almost cried.. Before you ask, I was a huge crybaby back then."

Adrian lifted his legs up so they were rested the couch and his knees were up. His laptop slid down a little but at least a little air could flow through the gap. His eyes flickered onto Jing as he asked if he was okay, he slowly nodded, completely telling the truth now since he could no pain in his mind any more, he was numb. "Yeah, just.. a bit sleepy," The word sleepy was muffled a little since he yawned right at the end. Those sleeping pills always made him sleepy when he took them at this time.
He maneuvered his character over to a pack of wolf like creatures that were around the same level as him, he thought it would be good practice to see how he did. It required a lot of paying attention when you fought things at your level, he'd have to remember to heal instead of trying to be tough. He rose an eyebrow at Jing's random explanation about the circus experience he had, "Wow.. yeah, puppets, clowns and all those things are pretty creepy," He said, sounding a little distract but he was just trying to make sure these things didn't kill him. "But, I haven't been to one, I don't think they ever came round to where I used.. to live," He didn't mind talking about Montana anymore, he couldn't feel anything.

Jing nodded in response to Adrian telling him he was just sleepy. Maybe he was sleepy and he had just went into his room to get a shot from an energy drink. Yeah, that made sense. His roommate was just fine. He started to remember and feel his own weariness when Adrian yawned. That's right, he hadn't really gotten much sleep last night because of Ling. He slouched over and began clicking his mouse every now and again. He had just begun a very long, and boring quest which required him to go back and forth to the same cities for a while. He covered his mouth and yawned lightly. Great, now he was getting sleepy. "Yeah, I still remember one of the clowns dislocating their body parts or whatever they had to do to fit into a really small car." He said and brushed his bangs out of his eyes.
When Jing's screen went blank, signaling that his character was changing locations, he glanced away from his laptop screen and then did a double-take. Peeking out from his partially closed bedroom door, was the nearly transparent, and pale face of Ling. He rubbed his eyes and looked again, but she still there, staring at him with an deep frown on her face. He looked back down to his laptop screen and licked his lips nervously. What was she doing here? She rarely ever visited him in broad daylight. Was he dreaming?
He glanced to Adrian and then back down to his keyboard. He seemed pretty preoccupied with the game at the moment. She'd once told him that she hid herself so no one, but him would see her, however those with high spiritual energy would maybe still sense her presense. While he was beginning to hate Ling, he was still afraid of her, so there was no way he could just ignore her. "I gotta make a call." Jing stood up, sighed and walked into his room. He quietly shut the door behind him.

Adrian cringed at Jing's comment about the clown dislocated it's limbs to fit inside a very small car. He always wondered about why people dedicated their lives to making people go 'Oh my god! How do they do that?'. "Sickening," He said in reply, still not taking his brightly coloured eyes off his game. It felt nice to be out in the open, talking to a 'friend' while playing a game somewhat together.
His character had successfully killed the entire pack of the wolf like creatures with only a slight bit of health left. He clicked on his inventory and began to heal himself with the correct items. He then went back to the quest page, deciding which one to do again. He decided on one and went to the correct city to start it. He finally looked up as Jing got up to go make a call, he watched him go into his room and looked away as he closed the door, wondering who he was calling..

Jing waited for a few moments, before sitting down on his bed and looking back to Ling. Ling, transperancy aside, appeared to be a pale skinned, middle aged woman wearing thickly applied make up and a silk, deep blue Chinese gown. Her solid black hair was in an elaborate updo, decorated and held together by a large golden trinket in the back. Her eyes were slanted like his, and she sort reminded him of reserved and angry version of his mother. When she didn't speak and just continued to glare at him, he frowned and whispered to her in Mandarin. "What is it? What do you want now?"[/i]
She spoke to him, and her voice was deep and smooth, but he only heard it in his mind. He looked away and rolled his eyes at her words. 'He wasn't serious about his duty to restore their clan,' she had said to him. Well, of course! He wasn't going to attempt to make a baby with some random person just to appease her! He had so many smart remarks to answer that with, but he stayed silent. As usual, Ling began to lecture him. It was the same thing every night. He really wanted to go back and play BaS.. His laptop had probably went to his screensaver by now.
'Jing,' she spoke with a very stern tone as she floated across his bedroom towards the window. 'I am not going to wait for you any longer. You've left me no choice. Every time you make eye contact with a male, you will return back to your female body. I'm certain you know what to do afterwards.' Jing stared at Ling for a while, taken aback. Did she just place a curse on him? "Are you kidding? That's too much! I'm not.. I can't do it."[/i] Jing replied, lowering his voice by the end of his sentence. Ling was already fading away in front of his window. 'Don't disappoint me again.'

As Adrian played Blade and Soul 2, he overheard part of Jing's conversation with whoever he was talking to. He noticed it was in mandarin, but the words he was using were too difficult for him to decipher as it seemed to be more casual than talking about family, people doing things and all that stuff he actually knew. He decided it was none of his business since Jing didn't pry about his abrupt disappearance into his room.
He had completed the quest he had started before, earning experience and nearly going up a level, frustrated, he furrowed his eyebrows as he went to find something to kill so he could fill that bar up. He wanted to get stronger so it'd take Jing longer to catch up and actually be able to mug him. He also decided he wanted a new attire for his character, too.
The sweet scent of apple pie caressed his nose and he put his laptop on the couch beside him and went into the kitchen, it had cooled down enough for it to be served. He opened the utensil drawer and reached for a knife to cut it into slices with. He cut it through the middle smoothly, like a pizza almost, he thought. Apple poked out the side but only a little, it wasn't too bad. He knelt down to grab two plates where he put a slice on each plate. He then thought about ice-cream to go with it... Maybe he should ask Jing what he wanted.
He went over to Jing's door and gently knocked on it, "Hey, Jing, I cut up a piece of the apple pie for you, do you want ice-cream with it?"

"Listen to me for once, things aren't the same as when you were alive."[/i] Jing said in attempt to change Ling's mind, but she was already gone. Jing sighed heavily and laid back on his bed. It wasn't all that bad.. All he had to do was not make eye contact with anyone of the same sex. But if she was doing little curses like that now, what was she going to do in the future? She's such an evil old hag...
Jing flinched a little when he heard Adrian knock on the door. "..Sure, thanks." He answered, feeling quite surprised. Aww, Adrian cut a slice of pie for me.. How nice.[/i] He thought and then grimaced. Why was he thinking like a girl?! But Adrian seemed nicer than most of his living and non-living relatives. If this kept up, Jing was really going to get attached... Anyhow.. He got up and walked out of his room.
He certainly wasn't going to stay shut up in his room after Adrian was nice enough to cut him some pie! Plus, he refused to be manipulated by Ling. Keeping his head tiled downwards and his eyes towards the floor, Jing went back and sat down in front of the coffee table. He moved his mouse to get out of the screensaver. Great, it logged him out. "I hope you didn't level too far ahead of me.

Once Jing had answered with a yes, he moved back into the kitchen and knelt down, opening the mini freezer underneath their fridge. He pulled a cold drawer out, noticing there was only frozen vegetables, pastry, packets of mince and other meat so he closed it and opened the second one where he found the ice-cream as well as ice-blocks in there, too. He wondered how long they'd been in there...
He put the french vanilla ice-cream onto the bench and decided to heat it up in the microwave for about fifteen seconds just to soften it up a little so he didn't break the spoon when he tries to scoop it out. He opened the microwave, pressed two buttons and pressed start after he placed the container of ice-cream in there. "Of course I didn't," He lied, he'd grown at least two more levels since he had begun playing today.
A sudden beep from the microwave told Adrian that it was finished, he opened the door and placed the ice-cream back on the bench. He reached into the utensil drawer and got two decent sized scoops of ice-cream onto each plate. After putting the ice-cream back, he brought both plates down to the coffee table, a fork lying next to the slices of pie. "Here," He said as he sat back down and picked his plate up off the table. He didn't like the idea of playing Blade and Soul 2 while eating ice-cream and apple pie so he'd wait until he'd eaten a fair bit of it first.

Jing logged back into the game and his screen returned to the place he was before he had to go talk to Ling. He studied his screen for a moment. He knew he was going to need a healer for the next quest and he had a few in game buddies who were healers. He wondered if they were still online, so he checked his contact list and scrolled down. None of his old partners were online except for Ciix... He stared at his screen for a moment and then looked towards Adrian. "You liar, you weren't on that level before I left!" He said and laughed.
He blinked and looked back to the kitchen when the the microwave went off. The pie couldn't have cooled off that much while he wasn't talking to Ling, so what was Adrian heating up? Ice cream? "Why are you heating up ice cream?" He asked. Maybe it was a Norwegian-Montana thing? Jing shrugged. He took the plate from Adrian when he brought over. "Thanks," he said and put his game character into rest mode. It was too much of a hassle eating and playing at the same time.
