There's A Spy Among Us {Harai/Maven}

[Nicolette]

Matt kept his eyes locked with Sven's for a few moments more before Kimi came back with the food. She held the tray with one hand and used the other to place their plates in front of them on the table.

"If you two need anything, let me know." She said with a warm smile before she headed off to take care of another table. Matt watched her leave before he turned back to Sven.

"Well, let's eat." he said with a smile, taking the pizza slice and taking the first big bite. He wanted to eat as fast as he could so they could get going and he could find out his wonderful surprise.

Nothing seemed too suspicious at the other table.... yet. Haruka glanced in the direction of the two boys at the other table, but didn't see anything that seemed out of the ordinary. She turned her attention back to Rai as the waiter came back with the two drink orders. She quietly thanked the boy.

"What can I get you guys to eat...?" Emilio asked nervously, his eyes on Haruka, mainly for the reason that he wasn't sure if Rai could speak English.

Haruka glanced back down at the menu, thinking for a moment. She turned to the Asian cuisine area. She spotted something appetizing and looked back up. "I'll take a rice bowl with teriyaki chicken." One of her favorites back home. This was something she could eat with ease, meaning she would actually eat a full, good meal for the first time in nearly a week.

She turned to look at Rai, waiting for his order.

Sven mentally praised Kimi as she brought their food to their table. He took a deep breath, taking in the amazing, intoxicating scent of the spicy butter chicken that had that hint of creaminess to it. He smiled to Matthew, agreeing with what he said second and began to eat. He scooped a heap of rice and chicken onto the fork and placed it into his mouth where he began chewing, completely melting into the taste of it.

For a brief moment, Rai took Emilio's staring at Haruka the wrong way and he shifted a little closer to his 'girlfriend' for the night, gently squeezing her hand with his. He opened his menu and noticed Haruka ordered something asian like and felt compelled to get something from that region as well. Mmm, asian food was so much better than whatever else was on there. His eyes skimmed over it, looking for something apetizing. Rai glanced back up at Emilio after making his decision, "Right, I'll have the Kamameshi, with chicken instead of seafood, and an Onigiri as well, thanks," He said in plain English for Emilio's sake, he felt bad about talking in Japanese to him earlier. He really needed to start concentrating on who he was talking to.

For a while, the secret couple ate in silence, savoring the taste of their food while also trying to eat as fast as they could so they could get to the next part of their date. At times, Matt dreaded the human need to eat. But as long as he was in the presence of his boyfriend, nothing else really seemed to matter.

He finished off his fries rather quickly and was nearly done with his pizza when he looked up at Sven, his eyes curious.

"Can you at least tell me where we're going?" He asked, his voice smooth and his eyes slightly pleading.

Emilio wrote down these orders slowly and carefully, making sure not to mess up the orders. He gave a smile and a nod to the 'couple' before he turned and headed off toward the kitchen to put in the order.

Haruka reached up with her free hand to take her straw, letting her lips gently wrap around it as she took in the delicious taste of the Mountain Dew. Oh, how the heavily caffinated drink tasted so heavenly in her mouth. She soon sat back, leaving her drink alone for a little bit while she listened to her earpiece. Her eyes watched the other table for a moment and noted that they had just received their food. This would mean that Haruka and Rai would have to either eat quickly, or put what was left of their food in a box for later.

There was silence in her ear for a while, which led her to jump a little when Emilio had come back with their food. She thanked him quietly and took her bowl before picking up her fork and stabbing a piece of chicken. She popped it into her mouth, savoring the delicious taste of the teriyaki sauce mixed with juicy chicken. She swallowed not too long after, letting out a content sigh as she did so.

She then had a slight idea. Why not keep up the act just a little. She took her fork and picked up another piece of her chicken. She brought it over until it was in front of Rai's mouth and she smiled a little as she asked, "Wanna try some of mine?" Her voice was gentle as her smile grew just a little.

How easy it was to be so calm and so... natural around the boy. Of course, Haruka had always been a witty little brat who would speak her mind, but she could be decent... And Rai brought that quality out in her.

[Faye]

For some reason, the taste of his butter chicken tasted better this time round than the last. He tried to figure out what the reason could be, different chef? Or just the pure fact that he knew tonight wasn't going to be a tearful disaster like last time so he could enjoy his meal knowing that. A playful grin slipped onto his lips as he finished half of his meal and Katt asked where they were going.

"Where's the fun in that~? If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise," He replied softly as he turned back to his meal. He noticed that his uh, girlfriend was eating rather quickly, she seemed eager to get going. Maybe he should eat slower? Just to tease her some more and make the suspense rise~ Oooh, sounded like fun. He scooped up another forkful of rice and the chicken coated in the creamy yet spicy butter sauce.

While Haruka was sipping at her Mountain Dew, Rai also picked up his drink but drunk at least over half of his coke before he got a fright from the ice sticking to the bottom of the straw. Pretending it didn't happen, he placed it back down and listened to through the 'ear piece' in his ear. Why he had it? He had no idea, it sounded like shouting to him so he decided to take it out and hand it to Haruka with an apologetic look. The sound was too much for him.

Emilio was quick to come back with their food, placing it down in front of them. He nodded a thank you and picked up the stainless steel fork to begin eating. He had just finished a third mouthful when he smelled the beautiful scent of teriyaki chicken under his nose. He wondered for a moment if her meal was that strong... but when he took a moment to look, he saw a piece there, his eyes followed the arm holding it to see Haruka asking if he'd like to try some of hers. Butterflies attacked his stomach and his heart fluttered into a spasm. With a smile he gently took the piece of chicken off her, chewing it slowly. "That's really good, part of the act, right?" He added on the end that last piece just to make sure, though he was pretty certain that it was.

Matt could see that Sven was starting to eat slower and a small pout formed on his lips. The night was already moving at such a slow pace, Sven didn't have to be such a meanie.

It didn't take long before he finished his pizza and his plate was clear. He brought his ice tea to his lips and began to sip the liquid, watching his boyfriend take forever to eat his food. Oh, why did time move so still?

"You could either say it was for the act, or you could say that I wanted to feed you some of my chicken. Whatever you choose to accept is fine by me."

She gave him a small smile before turning back to her food, taking her fork once more to stab at a piece of chicken, though she scooped some rice with it, and took a bite. She chewed quickly and swallowed before taking in some more. Oh, how she absolutely loved teriyaki chicken~

[Faye]

Sven could see the pout forming on his girlfriend's lips and decided that he had had enough of being a meanie, he wanted her to smile more than anything so he picked up the pace with his dinner, taking less time to chew and swallow so he could finish quicker. He stopped for a few brief moments to take a sip of his drink that he had ordered, feeling the cool liquid negate the spicy butter chicken.

Rai blinked, and smiled happily, "I think I'll take it as not part of the act~" He was happy to see Haruka more comfortable with him and eating! She was eating and enjoying her food, it was a decent amount so he was pleased to know that she wouldn't be fainting on him any time during the night. He was feeling pretty hungry himself so he ate faster with his food but when he chewed he slowed down to savour the beautiful taste of the Kamameshi dish. It was amazing.

By the looks of it, he assumed Sven and whoever his dinner date was were leaving as soon as they finished so he might have to take his onigiri in a box to eat when he got back from their 'mission'.

Matt gave a smile as Sven began to finish his food more quickly. He was so anxious to see what his surprise was!! He turned his head and began to seek out the young woman who had taken their order this time and the previous time they'd been to the restaurant. She was nearby, so he flagged her down with his hand, asking for the bill.

Kimi brought it over and set it on the table. Matt reached for his wallet as she walked off to take care of another table for the moment while they got their bill taken care of.

While Rai wasn't listening to the conversation (Haruka had been careless when she had given him the ear piece, considering his hearing could probably pick up their voices as it was), Haruka was listening into the ear piece while she ate. Not much conversation went on, but from what she could tell, they were getting ready to leave.

As the other voice asked for the bill, Haruka knew it was time to be getting ready to leave as well. She ate a few more bites of food before she called Emilio over for the bill and two boxes. The boy scurried off to retrieve the two items and Haruka took a wallet out of the small purse next to her.

[Faye]

Finally, Sven had finished his meal, he ran his index finger over his plate, it picking up the left over sauce that was placed over the chicken and rice that he had finished eating. He licked his finger before finishing off his iced coffee, feeling the caffeine calm his nerves but he stopped when he saw Katt reaching into her wallet to pay for their meal.

He shook his head, "Stop, really, I'll take care of the bill," He said softly as he got the amount from his wallet, placing it with the receipt that was printed. "My treat," He added, giving Katt a subtle wink.

Rai had practically devoured his meal, ah he was so hungry. Though he didn't get enough time to eat his Onigiri since he saw that Sven and whoever he was with were playing for the bill, getting ready to leave the restaurant. The two SFF members would have to act fast if they wanted to keep them from disappearing out of their sights but also acting as less suspicious as they could.

Emilio, their waiter for that evening brought them two boxes and their bill. He took one of the boxes, placing his onigiri into the box and closing it securely. While he was doing so, Haruka had already paid for their meal... but.. awwuh!

"You're mean. I was meant to pay for that, you know," He said as he glanced down at her, his voice held a playful irritated tone to it.

[Nicolette]

Matt blushed a little as he placed his wallet away, looking back down at his ice tea. As he finished it off, Kimi came back to take Sven's money. She wasn't gone long before she returned with the man's change. She smiled at the two, tucking some hair behind her ear.

"I hope the two of you have a wonderful night." She said before she was called away to another table.

Matt stood from the table and turned to Sven, looking up at the man who stood next to him.

"Shall we be going?"

Haruka couldn't help but smirk a little as she stood from the table, placing her box of food in a plastic bag that had been brought over. She waited for Rai to stand before she took his hand gently in hers.

"Well, you were too slow." She said simply. They began to walk and she led him over to the table that Sven and his companion were sitting at before, reaching under to take her chip. She placed it quickly in her purse and took her ear piece out as they left the restaurant.

Her eyes scanned the area for the two and found they hadn't travelled too far.

[Faye]

"Of course," He said lightly as he walked beside his girlfriend out of the restaurant and into the cool night breeze that gently pushed up against them. Sven's black locks swayed a little with the direction of the wind. He contemplated holding Katt's hand but he didn't want to risk anything so he just remained close by her side as he began to lead her out of the complex to the 'secret' place he had in mind for their night. "Bet you're dying to find out where we're going~" He teased.

Rai was taken back a bit by the fact that Haruka had willingly taken his hand while standing up, it felt so warm against his skin. He smiled lightly, not wanting this night to end, he was sure they would go back to being just friends once their mission was completed.

Her comment, however, made him pout, "Hmph," He was pretending of course, since the moment they exited the restaurant, a smile returned to his lips and he scanned the area for their targets as well as trying to hear their voices. He heard Sven's very clearly, noticing they weren't too far ahead of them. "How are we going to make this seem not suspicious?" He asked Haruka, his greyish blue eyes glancing down at her beautiful face.

[Nicolette]

Matt pouted up at his boyfriend, knowing the man was teasing him. Sven knew very well that Matt was absolutely dying to know where they were going. He brought his hand up to playfully hit Sven's arm (though the hit wasn't very hard at all) as he stuck his tongue out at Sven.

"Stop teasing me and just tell me where we're going." His voice was slightly whiney, and he almost sounded as if he were begging.

Haruka watched the two as they walked ahead. She contemplated the best way to follow them without being caught. She pulled Rai along beside her as she walked slowly, sort of following behind Sven and his friend, but at a safe enough distance that they wouldn't notice.

"We'll just follow as best we can. Remember, we must remain inconspicuous. When you think they might be looking, look away from them and wait a whole minute before you look back at them. We can't let them suspect us or they might return to the dormitories, which may prove to be difficult for us as we can't keep an eye on them while they're there."


As they walked though, Haruka gave a small shiver. She should have brought a jacket along... She hadn't quite expected it to be cold, though. Then again, it was still February, and not yet March.

[Faye]

Sven playfully stuck his tongue out at his girlfriend as she gently punched his arm for not telling her where they were going. He wanted to give her a quick squeeze but decided against it, there were quite a few couples out that night, going to eat at restaurants and catch late night movies... He thought if anyone else would be at the mountain peaks.

"I'm not telling you any details. Just, do you like views?" Views as in looking over a mountain peak to see over the entire island with all its beauty~ He hoped Katt would catch onto that, she was a smart girl.

Rain nodded in reply to Haruka, there obviously wasn't much they could do to keep a close eye on them without seeming a little suspicious. His ears picked up Sven's voice, talking about views? Did he mean like... television views or scenery views? He thought the second one seemed a little more... normal. He turned his gaze to Haruka, "He's talking about views or something? Where do you think they're going?" He had a hunch that it might be the mountains or somewhere high up if it was the type of views he was guessing.

He then noticed that Haruka was shivering, she must be cold. It wasn't the warmest month in the year and she must have forgotten a jacket. He glanced down at his hoody that he was smart enough to bring and let go of Haruka's hand to take it off. He rested it on her shoulders, bringing it round to cover her arms, "Here, you should keep warm if we're going to be out late tonight," Even in their native language his voice was soft and comforting.

[Nicolette]

Matt thought, trying to think of somewhere with views. It was a hint, but there wasn't much he could come up with; he was rather new to the island, so there were very few locations that were familiar to him.

"Yeah... But I guess that's not much of a clue considering I know nothing about T'zen Island."

Haruka looked up at the boy next to her, blushing lightly as she hugged the hoodie around her. Vanilla struck her nose and she gladly took in the delicious scent, savoring it and trying to commit it to memory. She slipped her arms through the sleeves and slid up the sleeve a little so her hand could pop out at the end of the sleeve and she could take hold of Rai's hand again.

It was comforting to feel his hand.

"Marl Peaks..." She said quietly, remembering one of the few places on T'zen Island that had nice views.

[Faye]

Aww~~ Well, that was too bad. Sven wasn't going to leak out any more hints with where they were going. He grinned, a light laugh escaping his lips, "Well, that's good," He said, thinking about where to continue walking, he had to remember which way the peaks were. "Don't dwell on it so much~ you'll find out soon, and it'll be better if you don't figure it out, then it'll be more special," He hoped she liked surprises like these because during the time they would be together as a couple, Sven would be surprising her a lot. Whether it be chocolates, flowers or... smokes, even!

The cool air brushed up against his now bare arms but it didn't bother him too much. He felt something against his hand, it was Haruka taking his hand again, he felt butterflies in his stomach and a warm fuzzy feeling rushed through every inch of his body. It felt nice for her to be so willing to co-operate, it was as if she wanted to do this. For real. Maybe, some day. He'd make sure to win her over.

Marl Peaks? Well, that was obvious. Why didn't he think of that? He hadn't been up there yet. He noted the idea down for a surprise for Haruka some day in the near future. "Interesting spot for 'friends'."

[Nicolette]

Matt frowned, a small pout forming on his lips. With a sigh, he focused his attention forward, trying to gather his surroundings. Things were starting to become unfamiliar as the sun dipped low in the sky and the twilight began to spread over the island.

Everything looked beautiful in the light of the sunset.

Twilight.

It was the end of a beginning, and the beginning of an end. The day was drawing to an end.

Haruka took Rai's words into consideration. She had heard of Marl Peaks before, though she hadn't really been to the area. They would have to be very careful in following the two, not only so they could remain out of sight, but also so they wouldn't become lost on their way.
