APPEARANCE DETAILS
Appearance: She has a rather pale complexion from being inside so much, though it appears slightly more tan that it once was. She has light brown hair coming to just above her shoulders. She appears more like a child than her claimed 27 years because of her round and child-seeming face. Though the way she carries herself and her aura give her age away. She stands at 5 feet and has b-cup breasts ore on the smaller side. Her eyes are a bright green.
Clothing Style: She often dresses in jeans and a button up shirt, though she can be seen in loose fitting dresses or a skirt. Her fashions are often changing, fitting into the mood she is in,not limited to one particular outfit.
Special Accessories: A necklace with a strange ruby that is cracked in half and seems to almost glow in a strange and almost sinister way.
PERSONALLY
Over-all Personality: Maria is really like a child. She whines and complains when she doesn't get her way. Her posture and aura giver her age away though, seeing as she is brimming with confidence. She enjoys teasing and playing pranks, and has a very energetic energy about her, even though she really is weak in health.
She enjoys flirting with students as well, not out of attraction though, only to see their reactions. She also seems to often come from no where and makes the most bizzar and unexpected entrances (such as dressing up in a ninja suit and hanging from a rope, upside down above everyone) She's strange and enjoys being so. Also, she often acts like a cat (there really isn't any reason for that....except that she likes cats.)
When alone Maria often tends to be more calm and to herself. She seems to be lost in memories most of the time. Even lonely and slightly depressed. She basically relies on others to keep herself energetic and lively. She tries to replace the part of her which still feels empty over the centuries, after the loss of her sister. She feels like she has to have life exciteing and full, so that she can live for the both of them.

BACKGROUND
History: Maria Stoner was originally Maria Corella, a Spanish-Italian princess. She hated being confined into the castle, not being allowed of the palace, or even her room, except for when she was needed. Her sister, Adelina, was frail and very ill, and was the favored twin. Maria was her double, used for important appearances when Adelina couldn't be available.
Maria didn't mind working for her sister, since she absolutely adored her sister and her gentle disposition. She gladly did what she could for her sister, even if that meant that no one outside palace walls could even know her name or see her face. She tried her best to be mature and responsible, but she truly was a child inside, often puling pranks on the servants who served her.
She did sneak out of the palace every once and a while dressed as a maid or lady in waiting. Her companion or childhood playmate, Antonio often disapproved, saying that she was putting herself and Adelina in danger. Maria never listened, ut often forced him into many of her misguided adventures.
Antonio, no matter how often or how much he protested, followed, protecting her from...well often herself and the dangers she put herself in. They both had fallen in love with each other, and supposedly they both knew, though they didn't say anything. They both knew it was useless.
Maria often tried to drag Adelina into their adventures. Adelina often joined Maria and Antonio without their invitation, often trying to prove to everyone that she wasn't as ill as they said she was. Though often she would faint or feel too tired to continue playing their games.
They were all good friends and made the best they could of their limited youth. Maria made the most effort to enjoy herself. But soon everyones happiness was crushed by the death of Adelina. One of the maids had sabotaged her medicine and she had died in her sleep.
Maria was to take Adelina's place, and pretend that she was Adelina and rule the country in her other siblings were unable to take the throne. Maria began intense studies and was taught how to appear as a proper young lady. She hated and resented her place in her family more than ever.
On night she spoke to Antonio, whom she had seen less and less of since Adelina had died. She talked about running away and he snapped at her, saying that she was ungrateful that all she could do was complain about the royalty and refused to, for one moment, accept her place in life.
Maria decided not to run away then. But she soon developed an illness, then called consumption. She was then restricted to her room and was forbidden to go anywhere. Antonio stayed by her side but blamed himself for her illness.
For several years she was confined to her bed. One day, though, a strange woman came to her in the night. She claimed that she could help Maria. If Maria were to let this woman take the health of her family and appear as her and live as her and let her rule the country, she would cure her.
Antonio accused the woman of witchcraft and was about to call for the guards when Maria stopped him. If what this woman said was the truth...then she would be cured and could evade her responsibility, and the people who had sentenced her to the inside would suffer as she had suffered.
Maria agreed and the woman took a simple necklace with a grand but sinister looking ruby off of her own neck and placed it onto Maria. Suddenly she felt more healthy than she had ever felt. She looked up to see that the woman looked exactly like herself.
The woman gave Maria a change of clothes and a bag of money and gave her the address to her former residence of where she worked, which was a family that Maria was distantly related to, and bid her to hurry before she was seen. Maria changed her clothes and took the money and was about to set out to the address when Antonio stopped her and begged her to let him come with her.
Maria agreed to let him join her and they ran away together. She was to work for the family that owned the residence that the woman had sent her to. She and Antonio worked as servants and found the family and the job agreeable enough.
As anyone might have thought, Maria and Antonio got involved and the next thing they knew Maria had become pregnant. They became nervous and things began to fall apart from there. There was news of the entire royal family being murdered, which left the Maria look alike with the throne, and things became worse.
Her rule didn't last for long. She soon "died of an illness" and was repleced with someone else, who claimed to be part of the royal family, everything being covered up cleanly. Maria didn't care much about what happened to the royal family, but she was soon under more stress and became seriously ill.
The family supported Maria and Antionio and arranged their marriage. Soon after Maria had given birth to a child and named her Helena. They were happy togeather for a while until the family they worked for was accused of trying to overthrow the king and were all executed.
As servants they were ordered to reveal all they knew and if they refused to comply they would be killed or sent to jail. Antonio quickly arranged for Maria to be hidden until it was all over, leaving only him to be questioned. Maria, in fear that if they were seperated cracked the jewel in her necklace in half and gave the other half to him, so that he wouldn't fall ill. They took him away and she never saw him again.
The family had always been fond of Maria and before they were taken away they left her their house and business. She was devestated being seperated from Antonio but dealt with it as best as she could.
But as the years went by she realized something strange. She wasn't ageing. And she puzzled over that, wondering if it had anything to do with her jewel. She also began to feel disturbed when she began to hear the voice of the witch.
The witch explained to her that she and Antonio were trapped under the spell of the jewel of the necklace. As long as the two pieaces were seperated then Antonio and Maria would be immortal. They would never age and never die. And the spell would never wear off until the stone was reuinited.
As her daughter got older, she still didn't age. Helena eventually accused her of being a witch and ran her out of the town. The years after that were broken. Nothing happened. She was hurt at her own daughter turning on her like that.
The centuries after that she hid. She didn't do anything. She lived in rags and begged off the streets. Eventually she picked herself up and worked as a maid again. And the finally a governess. As time went by, she officially became a teacher in the modern era. Eventually she worked her way into an excellent situation financially.
After centuries of nothingness, she heard of a school for gifted students. She decided it might be an interesting situation, and perhaps she could start her search for Antonio on this island, if he is still alive...
