Coincidence {Harai}

[Nicolette]

Haruka continued out of the library, trying to focus her attention on walking. She didn't hear Rai come up behind her, but she did feel him grab her wrist... The one with the newest additions. She let out a cry of pain and dropped her briefcase to the ground, snatching her wrist back and hugging it to her chest as tears formed in her eyes.

She turned to look back at Rai, her expression a mix of pain and desperation.

"I told you I was fine! I'm as fine as I'm ever going to be!!"

[Faye]

Rai flinched as she jerked her arm back in pain, he saw the tears well up in her eyes and felt saddness grow within his chest and he felt like he had done everything wrong, he should never have spoken to her that day, maybe he shouldn't of even continued on talking to her when he saw her down town that night. He should of just say hello and left it at that. But he didn't want to take it back. He really enjoyed the time he had with Haruka...

But... she didn't... seem to...

Again, he swallowed, feeling that anger bubble again, "Fine! I'm sorry that I tried to care about you, I'm sorry that I interrupted your life, I'm sure you'll be fine without me, pretend I never spoke to you that day then if you really want to, but know this, I really, really enjoyed my time with you and I thought you were enjoying it too, I thought we could be friends, but obviously I was too fast about it, I'm sorry, I will leave you alone now." With that and the pain in his chest, he turned around and began heading down the hall back to the library.

Everything was spinning again for Haruka as Rai turned to walk away. She took a shaky step toward him, trying to reach her hand out toward him. What was she doing...? Didn't she want him to leave her alone...?

No... Not like this...

She wanted his friendship... She was just scared that someone cared about her. She didn't want to believe it. She didn't want to cause any more trouble for anyone... She had been a burden on her mother, a burden on her grandparents, a burden on everyone.

Her vision blurred with tears as she reached out to Rai.

"R...Rai-kun..." She whispered softly. Everything spun faster around her and she felt the familiar sick feeling followed by a horrible migrane. She shook as she fell to her knees.

"N..Not...n...now..." She whimpered before her body fell to the ground.

No... Not the darkness... She slipped away from the realm of consciousness...

As he was walking back to the library, he looked over their time that they had spent together, feeling awfully hurt about what had just happened. He took a deep breath and knew that it was probably for the best, she most likely didn't want anyone else in her life to care about her... but he just couldn't bring himself to believe that, he wanted her to accept that he did care. He always would... Even like this.

But he heard a thud, the sound caused him to do a one-eighty, only to find Haruka's frail and weak body lying on the ground. He gasped and ran straight over to her, their previous conversation completely disappearing from his mind.

He lifted her head up off the ground, "Haru-chans!" He shouted, but not too loud, the concern only got worse with this. "Wake up, please..!" He sounded worried and full of desperation, he wanted her to be okay... if she didn't wake up he would have to carry her to the nurses office.

Her tiny body was limp in his arms. The only thing that would assure anyone that the girl he held was alive was the fact that she would take in and let out slow breaths that felt like hours passed between each breath.


It had been her lunch break and she had gone to the teachers' lounge for some coffee. The Physical Gifts' Class had been rather interesting that day. A kid had snapped his wrist completely in half. It had been horrible, but she had healed him and told him to be more careful. He wouldn't be able to use it fully for another two or three days.

She held the Styrofoam coffee cup in her hand as she walked down the deserted hall. She took a small sip as she turned the corner and her eyes widened a bit when she saw a girl collapse and a male run back to her aide. She walked quickly over and kneeled down carefully next to him (mainly so she wouldn't flash him her panties beneath her mini skirt).

Brittany Hale brought her hand forward and felt over Haruka's forehead before pressing her fingers to her neck.

"Seems like she only passed out..." She turned to the boy. "Would you possibly be strong enough to lift the poor thing and bring her to my office?"

[Faye]

Oh he was really worried about Haruka now, she wasn't moving much and her breathing had slowed right down. He kept trying to wake her up with gentle shakes of her body but nothing seemed to be working. He tried to hold back his want to actually start crying... No man would cry in a time like this, but he wanted to, what if something horrible happened to her? What if she had gone over the limit so far that she would die?

The nurse gave Rai a fright and he nearly jumped out of his skin. The mini skirt also made him blush a little but not too long, he was more concerned about Haruka. With her instructions he nodded and carefully lifted Haruka's frail body in his arms, one arm under her knees and the other supporting her neck, shoulders and head area. "Lead the way, Miss," He said, going back to speaking English. He nearly started speaking Japanese, though.

Brittany stood straight as the boy lifted the frail girl into his arms and she turned toward the direction she had been headed in the first place.
