It had been a complete month since the school year had started in the beginning of January. It was now February and classes were well under way and there were a lot of different students enrolling still, perhaps T'zenshin should send out more fliers and brochures at specific times so they would have a flood of students at appropriate times.
The sun was out today and a lot of students were spending this lunch hour outside, lapping up every bit of the sun's warming yet harmful rays. However, one eleventh year had been sent to the library for his lunch hour. He was falling behind in his Government class and his teacher was highly unimpressed and forced him to head to the library to read up on some books (probably going to be extremely boring too) on the current topic in their class.
With a groan the boy entered the library, waving to the librarian but the wave wouldn't be considered a wave at all since he just barely lifted his arm up. His greyish blue eyes scanned the different categories of the library, there were so many... Oh he would be here the entire lunch time! But, something caught his eye. His new best friend~! He had spotted a computer that could give him a location of where to find the books that he wanted. With a pleased grin, he forgot about his want to get outside for a moment and walked briskly over to the computer. He wanted to run, but the librarian was watching him like a hawk.

Sleepless nights. Small portions of food. Dark circles covered in make up beneath blank eyes that scanned over the words the laptop showed.
It had been six days since Haruka Amagi had heard her cell phone ring and she knew that it meant something was wrong; her cell phone rarely rang... She picked up her phone that evening and spoke with her grandmother about how Tsukiko Amagi's health had been declining. Yukari Amagi believed it wad because Tsukiko had just been working too hard and that she should be fine with some rest, but she felt she should let Haruka know that her mother had gotten ill and had been in the hospital.
She'd already lost her father... Did she really need to lose her mother before the age of eighteen? Hell, it was only the second month of school and already things were starting to prove to be shitty.
No matter how tired she was, she couldn't allow herself to sleep for too long. She would take time to sleep when she arrived home from her classes, though she would only sleep about an hour because she wanted to wake up with the sun still in the sky. The dark was scary and she couldn't bring herself to stay in it.. She would stay up the rest of the night on her laptop. Sometimes it would be to read manga, other times it would be to watch some anime. She'd also get work done while she had nothing better to do.
Her appetite had almost completely disappeared. The last thing she had eaten had been a bowl of ramen she had made for her and Faye about three nights ago. Sure, her stomach had protested at first, but it soon became quiet as she continued on without food.
She had taken the liberty of wearing a bit of make up to hide the dark circles she had discovered a few mornings ago. She had to ask Faye what kind of make up she wore and decided to try the same brand, going into town to get it. She tried it out and found it hid the dark circles. Her long locks hung loosely around her thin form. Her uniform was starting to feel a little loose on her form... Oh well.
She reached her hands to her keyboard and finished up the email to Natasha that she had been writing. In a nutshell, it told the older girl how T'zenshin was so far and what had been happening. She even clued the girl in on the information of her mother. Natasha... She had nearly forgotten about the girl at first. Her only friend... Well, it didn't matter how close they were emotionally; they were thousands of miles away physically. Only emails connected them...
She let out a gentle sigh as she clicked the 'send' button and closed out of her email. She turned off her laptop and shut her eyes, leaning back in her chair.

Rai had pulled the plastic chair out from underneath the table and took a seat down on it, the cool plastic sending a shiver up his body. Shaking it off, Rai stretched his fingers a little bit and opened the search engine tab on the library's computer. He rested his elbow on the table which cupped his chin softly while he thought about what they were doing on Government. What his teacher had told him before had completely disappeared from him, he really couldn't remember.
Looking around for something that might jog his memory, he noticed something. Haruka. Haruka Amagi. The girl he spent the night walking around the streets with a few nights ago, well.. basically a week anyway. His heart sped up a little, it was nice being with her and talking to her but something made him feel reluctant about talking to her.
Oh! She was in his Government class~! That would be his excuse for wandering over and striking up random conversation. With a smile spread across his lips he rose up from the cold chair and walked over to Haruka who was seated at one of the tables, her laptop shut. Strange. She had her eyes closed too, from the look of her body, no amount of make up that he could see on her face could hide the fact that she was exhausted. Poor girl.
He sat down beside her and tapped her shoulder lightly, hoping to god that he didn't startle her too much. "Haru-chan?" He said in perfect Japanese, just like their previous conversations.

Haruka had heard someone walking near and then heard the sound of a chair near her moving. She assumed someone needed the chair to do their own research and stuff and she ignored it, not wanting to cause any sort of trouble.
Her body tensed a little and her eyes shot open when she felt something tap at her shoulder and she heard the familiar voice of the male she had spent an evening with the previous week. She turned her dark, blank eyes to look at the male next to her.
"Yes...?"

Rai cringed. She really did look exhausted, her eyes were so blank and dead that it really sadden him to see her like that. Was she sleeping okay...? Eating properly...? Definitely unlikely. He mentally sighed "Wow, you don't look so great.. Are you alright?" He asked her, completely going off track, ignoring the real reason for why he had disturbed her from her rest.
Although he felt a strange vibe that Haruka didn't want to know he cared for her, he still did. He wasn't going to stop no matter how hard she tried to get him to stop. It was just in his nature to care about people in general but Haruka was a little different. She was his friend... To him, at least, he wasn't sure what he was considered to her.

"I'm fine, Aikaryu-kun." The girl lied as she sat up in her seat. "What brings you to the library during lunch?"
She wanted to get his attention off the subject of how she was and on to any other matter. She was quite curious as to what he was doing there, especially considering he didn't seem like one who would spend time in a library on his own free will. The spirit he possessed was too free for the confines of a library during the lunch period.

Rai bought her lie. Unfortunately.
He nodded and chuckled a little bit, remembering about his reason for coming over to her in the first place. If he had remembered before he even saw her he probably wouldn't be talking to her right now and would be off trying to find the location of that book he needed. Well, that his teacher wanted him to get. He didn't need it. He hated history altogether. It could go die.
"Oh right! I was made to come here by our Government teacher because I'm apparently 'falling behind' " The last part was said in English and in a comical impersonation of their teacher. "And I can't remember what our current topic is so I came to ask you what it was..." He continued, feeling a little bad that he didn't just go over to her to say hello, he would of if he didn't desperately need that book to stop his teacher breathing down his neck about unnecessary things.

Ah, so he was having trouble in Government. She couldn't say she was very surprised, though, since he seemed to space off a little during class. She opened her laptop again and booted it up, connecting a flashdrive into it once it was finished loading. She found the information she was looking for and clicked the 'print' button.
The nearby printer near the librarian's computer booted up and printed the appropriate papers. The dark haired girl stood and walked over, taking the papers and ignoring the librarian's confused look. She walked back over to Rai and held the papers out to him.
"These notes span over two weeks worth of class. Hopefully these will help you."

He blinked, watching her open her laptop and gather some form of notes together on there and print them off to the librarian's computer. Rai could not help but chuckle a little bit at her confused expression about her using the printer, plus she probably had no idea her laptop was connected up to that printer, if it was even possible. But! Haru-chan was a master hacker~
With a smile he took the notes she had specially printed out for him and nodded to her, "Thank you, Haru-chan," He said, his voice beaming with warmth and happiness, the complete opposite to Haruka.
"So um..." He continued, not seeming like he wanted to get up and go study straight away. Now that he was interacting with her again he didn't want to leave just yet. "How have you been?"

The girl wasn't much for words right now. With the aching hole in her chest and her pounding head, she really couldn't think of much to say to his question. She knew, for a fact, that she wasn't going to tell him the truth. She took a handful of her skirt in her right hand, gripping it hard. She could feel pain again... And not only from her chest.
The damned uniform sleeves brushing against her lower arms...
"I have been fine." Or, at least her definition of fine.

Okay, Rai was a little oblivious to certain things and took awhile to catch on to what people were saying and their body language but he had felt a sort of connection with Haruka lately and was starting to be able to read her body language and her voice tones. She definitely didn't sound okay, she looked tired and exhausted from obviously not eating enough food.
He was feeling anger bubble up inside him, as well as disappointment and fear for her, she really needed to look after herself more. He remained seated in his cold plastic chair that was starting to warm up from how long he had been sitting there.
"Haru-chans... I don't mean to be offensive or anything but... are you okay? You look like you need something to eat," He said, trying his absolute best to stay nice about it, the last thing he wanted was for her to get frustrated about it, which would definitely jeopardize their slight formation of a friendship.

Haruka could feel her heart thud hard against her chest. What was this guy's problem?! Couldn't he just get the hint that she was just fucked up and that he just needed to stop giving a shit?! She clenched her skirt tighter and she turned her eyes to look at the table.
"I told you I was fine." She said firmly.

The firm tone that came from Haruka caused Rai to flinch and feel his heart sink to the bottom of his stomach, he was only trying to help her! He didn't realise she felt so strongly about him caring about her. He really didn't mean to upset her or anything. He folded the notes up and placed them in his pocket for safe keeping.
He swallowed hard, "I was... I was only asking.." He stammered, finding it hard to pick the right words to say, with that attitude of hers before, it would be no doubt this would be the end of anything they had started. If there was a start to anything.

Haruka stood from her chair and reached out for her briefcase. However, everything around her began to spin a little and she grabbed the edge of the table, bringing a hand up to her head to try and stop everything from moving. She swallowed hard and grabbed her briefcase, moving away before Rai could notice that she wasn't exactly doing well.
"I'll...see you around..."

He didn't realise it was possible but his heart sank even lower when she began to stand up, he saw her stumble and nearly reached out to help her but she seemed to regain her balance soon afterward. He frowned, concern laced everywhere throughout his features on his face, especially deep within his greyish blue eyes. The noises around him were being ignored, especially the yelling and screaming outside from the students happily spending their lunch hour together outside in the sunlight.
For a moment he just sat there on that plastic chair and watched her exit the library. It took a lot of courage for him to stand up then, but he did. He stalled for a moment longer but found that if he didn't act now something terrible might happen to her.
Picking up his pace as he finally exited the library he caught up to Haruka who hadn't moved very far. He grabbed onto her wrist lightly, "Please don't go yet, Haru-chans... I just.. I was just worried about you."
