A Dash of German {Maven}

[Faye]

Looking around for a seat, Sven listened to their conversation about the whereabouts of the rest of the band and how... Annemarie was doing. A sympathetic expression slipped onto his face as he watched Katherine stroke the girl's hair.

Finally, Sven found himself a seat and made sure no one wanted to sit on it and sat down. He leaned back against the fabric covered back cushion of the seat.

His eyes focused on Katherine as she asked about Nickolaus, there was no answer from Jakob about it and he felt Katherine's frustration bubble inside her. He wanted to give her a hug or comfort her in some way but he didn't want to in front of Jakob, she didn't exactly refer to Sven as her boyfriend or anything. Not to be selfish but he was kind of hoping Nickolaus wouldn't turn up. What would happen then? It would be rather embarrassing..

Argh. He couldn't think like that. For now he was there for Katherine.

[Nicolette]

Katherine kept her eyes locked on Annemarie for a while, one of her hands brushing through the girl's hair while the other gently clutched the girl's closest hand. The heart beat moniter was constant, which was a comfort to the ex-idol.

It wasn't long before the door opened and another man came waltzing on in with two brown bags full of food.

It would only be proper to describe the two men of Radiance. Jakob was tall and thin, with messy dirty-blonde hair and brown-green eyes. He was dressed in a band t-shirt and baggy jeans, looking as if he didn't bother to dress to impress due to the atmosphere. The other man was a bit taller than Jakob, with black hair that fell to his shoulder blades (though it was worn back in a ponytail), his dark eyes looking questioningly at Katherine.

"[Who's the chick?]" He asked, hanging one of the bags of food to Jakob.

"Who do you think it is, idiot? It's our beloved little kitty Kat." Jakob said as he snatched the bag. "What'd you get me...?" He said musingly as he opened the bag, peeking in at the wrapped up food inside.

Katherine turned and smiled at the man. "Long time, no see, Jonny." She winked, to which Jonatan's eyes widened.

"[No fucking way...]" he muttered in German before he noted the language difference. "What, you forget how to speak German, Kurzer Stoff?" Jonatan asked with a smirk. Katherine stuck her tongue out at him.

", Alter Mann." Jonatan rolled his eyes at her. "I just don't like being rude around those who don't understand it."

"Hey, if he's old, what does that make me?" Jakob protested.

It was then that Jonatan noticed Sven sitting off to the side. He raised an eyebrow and looked back at Katherine. "He's a friend of mine from school. I'd appreciate it if you'd be nice to him." She stuck her tongue out at Jonatan again before turning back to Annemarie. The man looked at Sven one more time before walking to the other side of Annemarie's bed and taking a seat in one of the empty chairs, putting his feet up on the girl's bed.

"Whatever, Kurzer Stoff."

[Faye]

Maybe he had made a mistake. He was feeling rather nauseous now.

He nearly jumped out of his skin when the door opened again, it was obviously another radiance member. The one who had gone to go get food for them. He waved weakly when they were half-assedly introduced and was hurt more by the friend reference but he realised he deserved it considering what happened at school. Only when they were alone were they a couple.

Okay, he needed to go to the bathroom quick. But what would he say? Where would he go? Would Katherine guide him or get someone else? What if he had to go on his ownnn.... He decided to just ignore it.

[Nicolette]

Katherine brushed her fingers through Annemarie's hair for a little while longer. Jonatan and Jakob silently munched their respective meals. Jakob picked up his soda from earlier that day and sipped it before he set his bag of food on the table next to Annemarie's bed as he stood up.

"I seriously have to pee. I haven't used the bathroom all fucking day." He said as he stretched, letting out a yawn. He started for the door.

"Schwächling." Jonatan said from the other side of Annemarie's bed. Jakob rolled his eyes and held his middle finger up to his bandmate.

"Sit on that and spin, Fucker." Jakob said casually as he started for the door.

"You'd like that." Jonatan called after him, to which Jakob rolled his eye. He started to pass Sven.

[Faye]

Sven was relieved when Jakob spoke about needing to pee, maybe he could follow him to where the bathrooms were and not get lost in a place full of German and confusion. Though, Sven felt a little disgusted about the relationship between Jon and Jakob but he brushed it off as normal for them, obviously.

Then Jakob was getting up and walking passed him, he had to act now, it was go now or have to wait until the next opportunity. He swallowed hard and rose up from the seat he was at. "Uh, I need to go too..." He said quietly.

[Nicolette]

Jakob blinked as he noticed Sven stand and let out a light chuckle at the response he'd gotten. "The more the merrier." He joked before he turned to call over his shoulder to Katherine, "We'll be back, Kit-Kat."

Katherine rolled her eyes at the nickname, but smiled fondly. "Don't get lost, you two." She warned teasingly, to which Jakob laughed at and pushed open the door, waiting for Sven before he shut the door behind them, heading into the hall.

"Follow close, Foreigner.....Whose name is Sven." Jakob shot an apologetic smile at the boy. "I'm really bad at remembering names... Even ask Kit-Kat. It took me six months before I could remember her name, which is why I stuck to giving her simple nicknames. So don't take any offense to the 'Foreigner' thing...kay...?"

[Faye]

Well now he felt awkward, he was caught in the middle of some kind of joke about going to the bathroom. Oh well, he'd just shrug it off, he needed to go to the bathroom quick before he threw up or wet himself. He smiled at Katherine briefly before he left the room with Jakob.

Out in the hall, he could hear more German coming from everyone else's mouths, he felt so confused and frustrated, he wanted to know what they were saying. He turned to Jakob when he started speaking, nodding, "It's okay," He replied, deciding that getting offended by the foreigner bit was a little childish.

Before Sven said something else, they had walked a few metres from the door, "Wh.. um, why didn't you say anything when she asked about Nickolaus...?" He wanted to know and was genuinely curious about it.

[Nicolette]

Jakob raised an eyebrow at the question, his hands in his pockets.

"Didn't realize you'd been paying attention to that..." He admitted, his tone softening as he focused his forward. "There really isn't much to say about present time Nickolaus..." He bit his lip, as if fighting himself.

"How well do you know Katherine?" He finally asked.

[Faye]

If there wasn't much to say, then surely he would have said he was fine or something. He was hoping that was the case and Nickolaus had just gotten over Katherine. Wait that was mean. Katherine would be with who she wanted to. He just gave another nod, he probably wasn't going to get much out of him. Oh well.

Then another question came, Sven looked at him, his eyes narrowed a little. "Well enough," Sven was quite confident that he knew quite a bit about Katherine, not everything but enough to understand her. He knew almost as much as she remembered. "Why? She doesn't remember a lot of things so there's only so much I could know."

[Nicolette]

"Well, you know enough to know that she was a Radiance member... And I'm assuming since you knew her from school, you knew her by her guy-alias and somehow found out who she really was..." Jakob was hesitant, sort of stalling as if he had pretty much dug himself into a holt that he probably wouldn't be able to crawl out of.

"Dude, I hardly know you and here I am, about to spill one of the biggest secrets Radiance has... I mean, it's not like people don't know about it... We just tried to keep it hushed..." He ran his fingers through his hair as they came up to the bathroom. He paused outside of it, turning to look at Sven. "Just... give me a good reason that I should tell you this secret. Please, just give me a reason so I won't feel like shit for spilling it... And don't say 'Just because I want to know', because that's just not good enough."

[Faye]

Sven's face fell as he said 'somehow found out who she really was' that night... it didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. Katherine had confessed her love and he couldn't return it but he wanted to so much. But he couldn't ever love someone if he wanted to remain the way he was.

He continued listening to Jakob, hesitant about speaking until he was finished. By the way he was talking, it seemed like something quite serious had happened to Nickolaus. Though he felt relieved, he also felt terrible for feeling relieved about it in the first place, Katherine was going to be devastated if she ever found out. "So I can protect Katt, she came here to see Annemarie but also to find answers about Nickolaus, I just want to understand.." He was beginning to regret joining Katherine on coming to Germany but it was too late now.

[Nicolette]

Jakob was silent for a moment before he leaned back against the wall of the secluded hallway. He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at the ground for a long moment.

"What I'm about to tell you... You can't tell Katherine. If I find out that you told her, I will beat you to a bloody pulp. I'll get Jonatan and Leon and we'll make sure no one fucking finds you when we're done with you. You'll fucking suffer..." He rose his eyes to Sven. "Do you understand?"

[Faye]

They had stopped moving and Sven eyed Jakob as he awaited an answer. But the answer he got was one that threw him off, Sven was being threatened with his life now. He felt a shiver run down his spine, his eyes wide and he took a few steps back.

"I understand.." There was no backing out now, there was too much curiosity bubbling inside of him, he wanted to know. He needed to understand Katherine more. He wouldn't tell her, that was the point but what if she found out eventually and then found out he knew all along...?

[Nicolette]

Jakob took the promise and let out a sigh, his eyes falling back down to the ground. There was a pause before he finally started to speak.

"A couple of years ago, Radiance had been huge. People fucking loved us. We were the best thing since sliced bread... But with the pros, there came the cons. We got lots of fanmail... And eventually, some of the fanmail started coming from weird people. Kit-Kat had received a few weird letters from some crazy fan who was obsessed with seeing her. Pretty much a stalker..."

There was a pause and he swallowed before continuing. "She almost quit the band because of this stalker guy. Nickolaus, Zane, convinced her to stay. She loved to sing. It was her passion, and he didn't want her to give up her dream.

"So, about two years ago, we were touring Germany and we were staying in Berlin for the night. I stayed in the room with all the band equipment, next door to Kit-Kat and Nick's room... Everything was calm and we were all a little nervous about our upcoming concert, since it would be determining if we'd be doing world touring..."

He paused again, taking in a deep breath and slowly letting it out as he shut his eyes. "There was a scream from the next room over. By the time I'd gotten there, Nick was stabbed multiple times in the chest, Kit-Kat was screaming, and Nick's murderer escaped through the window.

"Needless to say, the incident traumatized her. Nick's last words to her were to leave Germany, and her mom couldn't agree more. Katherine left Germany and went to live with family in America. We awaited news on Katherine's condition, considering she'd pretty much given up the will to live.

"Her mom called about a month later and we found that Kit-Kat had gone through some pretty intense therapy. She went to a hypnotist who worked his magic and bam... Kit-Kat didn't remember anything from that horrible night. She remembered the weird letters, but other than that, it was as if the freak never existed.... And in her mind, Nickolaus never died..."

He let out a sigh, bringing a hand to run through his hair. "She's under the impression that he's just been too busy to keep in contact and stuff. We were pretty much ordered by Kat's mom not to breathe a word of what happened. She's afraid that it might undo what the hypnotist had done, which would send Kit-Kat right back into the horrible depression she'd suffered before."

He looked up at Sven. "So Nickolaus is dead and Katherine went on to take on a new alias in order to throw off the fucker who killed our male lead. It's pretty dangerous that she's been waltzing around us the way she has... But she hardly looks like herself, so I guess she'd be safe for now..." There was another sigh as he looked away. "Pretty fucked up story, huh..."

[Faye]

Sven knew that much about Radiance. They were one of his favourite bands ever. Wait, they were his favourite band. They were all he listened to these days, he loved listening to Katherine's beautiful voice, it was so calming and helped him sleep at night.

He listened intently, taking every bit of information in, he was absolutely speechless by the end. It was all so much to take in, but it was so traumatic. Poor Katt. No wonder she wanted answers and no wonder why she had forgotten it all, not only with the therapy, her mind probably buried it so deep it was hard for her to even think about remembering such an event.

"Definitely.." Sven choked out, he was trying his best to comprehend it all. "Don't worry, I won't tell her anything," He added that last bit to reassure Jakob he wasn't going to tell her. He really didn't want to die at this age.
