Vanyel listened to the girl as she gave her short explanation. Apparently she was a little nervous, not that it was in any way relevant to how he would treat her. What did interest him was her power. So she could read auras... he considered asking her to tell him what his looked like. But decided against it, for now. The whole class didn’t need to know his many faults were more than skin deep... then again he didn’t know the extent of her powers... he would work on that in the future. “hmm, well that is reason enough I suppose.” Even as he responded to her he remained aware of the other student’s reactions. Sven had reacted to his suggestion at being forced to change, he wasn’t sure whether it was painful, or something else entirely, but Vanyel would do his best to rid the student of his aversion to his power. Fighting a power would only lead to trouble... but he would deal with the shape shifter later.
He returned to behind his desk, addressing the class as a whole once more, even as he jotted down a note about Rebecca’s power and questions he would need to ask her... such as her name, he must have misplaced her file. Despite the pleasure playing with his students minds brought him, he figured eventually “Now, who can guess at some of the things that an untrained mind can be subjected to without awareness or control?” He added a little jolt to his influence just to get his point across. He was enjoying the reactions of his students. He delighted at others discomfort, it was all fun and games with him... until someone got hurt, then it was just his job. And although one of the reactions was a little extreme he was still enjoying this. But before it ended he wanted to be sure they all learned how vulnerable they all were... even if it was something so apparently innocent like lust or infatuation...
Making his way to Rebecca’s desk he placed his hands in front of her and leaned down with a challenging frown. “What about you? Do you know what you could be subjected to without your knowledge? Do you know what could happen to you if you don’t train properly?” He tried to force her to make eye contact so that she could receive a more powerful blast of his ability, it wasn’t subtle, she would probably feel what he was doing even if she didn’t know how to fight it or where it came from.

Adrian shifted in his seat, uncomfortable in more than one way. He shifted in an attempt to become more comfortable, certain that if he just stayed where he was, any physical reactions would go away unnoticed. He really didn’t want to be ridiculed in the middle of class, especially in front of the god-like persona that was his teacher. He couldn’t help it if his body reacted so strongly to a man that broke Adrian’s system, so many pros, and so few insignificant cons, he was sure he was in love... or at least that he would do anything to have sex with his teacher.

Rebecca sighed to herself as he seemed to just leave her alone after her short explanation about her ability and reason to be in that class. She slumped down in her plastic chair, letting out the deep breath she had taken in before. Of course her little relief session was interrupted when he began speaking again, making his way over to her desk, asking a direct question at her. A gasp escaped her lips and she kept her eyes down on the wooden desk, she was ashamed to look him in the eye, she didn't want to feel anymore uncomfortable than she already did. She gave a light shrug, unsure, "I.. I don't.. know.." She said, her voice an almost, inaudible whisper. ~*~*~*~ The attention was off him for now so Sven took the time to look back out the window, to try and calm himself down. He couldn't let this... teacher get to him, he wasn't about to lose control and change in front of everyone. Sven shook his head, burying his face in his hands, running them down the skin of his face and looked to the front of the class. What was this man doing to them all? Absolutely petrifying them into obedience just to get some knowledge into them? Sven's eyes wandered over to the girl who had turned up late, the teacher at her desk, hearing his question. Losing control or not having it could have dangerous consequences... He knew that all too well.

Kyerin half listened to the older man, the other half of his mind dealing with the random fluxes in attraction he had for his teacher. It was easy for him to guess what an untrained mind could be subjugated to, considering that he had already performed some of those things. Mind reading... mental coercion... even this emotional influence that he was suffering was all what could happen. If one was to approach it from fantasy terms, a strong mental resistance could stave off foreign influences, like charms, manipulations, or even drowsiness caused by magical powers. When facing someone else with a mental gift, having a shield around your mind was really the only defense.
Considering that the teacher had gone back to yelling at the younger girl, the young man let his mind wander a bit, though he kept one ear out to keep tabs in case he was called on yet again. This was going to be a rough class... he wasn't sure what the Student Council president would make of it when she finally did show up. Of course, knowing the teacher, he would probably try to embarrass or ruin her when she did show up. Well, he'd be nice and give her a warning; besides, he also had to put her in contact with his sister, as he promised. After that... well, maybe he would take the rest of the day off from worrying about things, like school and the SFF... just for one day.

Vanyel glared at the girl, “You will look at me when I speak to you.” He kept his voice even, but his annoyance was coming through loud and clear. Some who hadn’t seen him angry wouldn’t realise the difference, but it was there. He would never get angry with a student... when he was angry there was likely to be a fight... and one or both would end up dead or at least unconscious. He was the man that he was and the former was much more likely. The point was that this girl was testing his patience, not that he had much to begin with... but she was quickly eroding away his last stores of patience. ”The attitude of submission and meekness is pointless. The fact that you veer away is an attempt at avoiding attention and anger that will not serve you well in my presence. For you to learn in this class you will participate.” He pointedly didn’t say must participate that implied somewhat of a choice. ”Now, what do you have to contribute to the class?” He wasn’t trying to coax her, there was no subtility involved at all. He justr wanted to make eye contact for a second so that she would feel that overwhelming desire. It would be more appropriate with fear... but he didn’t feel like revealing that particular attribute to the students. He had informed the headmaster, but aside from that he hadn’t said a word about it to anyone else... and he was being carefull to use it only when no one would notice. He stared at Rebecca willing to add just a touch of that fear if she made eye contact, not enough to be noticed over the lust, but it would be there. He decided against it only because that this girl was probably already afraid of him as it was, her meek attitude was disgusting.

She could feel his eyes burning into her very skin as she continued to stare at the desk, trying to avoid eye contact but she wasn't used to this kind of treatment, no one had ever spoken to her like this at all, she found it hard to deal with. She felt her eyes well up with tears from the pressure and she saw herself breaking soon. She blinked them away as best she could but it was all too much. "I-I.. I'm s-sorry.." She murmured as she wiped her eyes, picking up her bag and other things and stood up, making a bee line for the door. She pulled it open and disappeared down the hall, she needed to breathe. [Rebecca Parker has left the thread]~*~*~*~ Sven watched as the teacher continued to try and get some answers out of the poor girl, his eyes widening as he saw glistening tear drops slip from her eyes. He shook his head, she was only a young girl. Surely there was someone better he could deman answers from. Like that other guy in the class, the one who just seemed to wiggle in his lack of comfort and stay quiet. Vanyel seemed to just ignore him... Sighing, Sven turned his attention to the course outline sheet to busy himself with something other than who the teacher was getting at.

A rustling at the side caused Kyerin to look over, noticing that the girl who had been getting the third degree from the teacher seemed to have reached her breaking point. In the blink of an eye, she rose from her seat, taking her bag and bolting from the room. He blinked, completely surprised by this turn of events; to think that someone would break down this early, just one day after the new teacher showed up... He felt some pity on her, and would have to see exactly who she was. It could be possible to recruit her to the SFF... considering that he did hear about her aura reading ability, having her as an advesary would be detrimental.
The young man looked back ahead, glancing down at the paper, reciting now the powers of the number two in his head to stave off the weird emotion that had been waylaid for the moment. Now that the girl was gone, and everyone else seemed antsy, especially one kid who looked like he may jump the teacher at any moment, the only people who would be picked on now would either be the vice-president or himself... so he had a 50-50 shot of not making himself look an idiot in front of the class.

Vanyel stood back from the girl’s desk as she fled. The imbecile, she seemed to have little will or mental prowess of her own. Too fold so easily, she needed a backbone, children were coddled way too much, her age was irrelevant; he would treat her as any other student. He turned this time on the shape shifter, “Well, seeing as the girl, first professed her ignorance, and decided to run away, the question falls to you Mr. Carlisle. What are you vulnerable to without discipline and control?” He approached the student’s desk, though he didn’t go as far as he had with the girl. He just stood there, not quite impassively and watched the current object of his attention. This one hadn’t really reacted to his ability, so either he was better able to control himself... or he just wasn’t under his influence yet. If the former, hopefully Vanyel message would still get across, if the latter, well... he would just have to ensure that his student was subjected to his abilities... and the next time he made eye contact... he would attempt to instil a little lust. ___________________________________________________________
Adrian watched his teacher his mind seeming to stretch in two directions, the side that was governed by reason, and the side that was governed by his libido. Currently the side of reason was losing. And at that moment he wanted nothing more than to come out to the world... or at least it was high on his wish list. On the other hand... well, put bluntly it would ruin his life. Any ties he still had to his friends from home would be obliterated, and any friends he could hope to make here would have their sight clouded by his preferences and colour their views of him. So as much as he wanted to find a way into his teachers pants... it probably wasn`t going to happen.

Why the question had to fall back on him was beyond even his comprehension. Why couldn't he pick on that other guy that he hadn't even spoken to all lesson?
Or Kyerin?
Why not them?
Making a face, Sven dared to glance up at the teacher, feeling an emotion that the others had been discreetly feeling as well. The man all of a sudden seemed very sexy, hot... his voice was alluring.
Oh god, what the hell? Shaking his head, Sven averted his eyes, "Well... I can.. be vulnerable to a lot, mostly, embarrassment or harm," Embarrassment was due to his ability, harm, was a more wide term, covering most people in the room.

Kyerin was grateful when the teacher passed him for the moment, instead taking on the Vice-President. What was it about this older man? His teaching style was less teaching and more sadistic amusement. If he wasn't sure that any attempt to read the professor's mind would lead to a lapse in his focus and him doing something very stupid and naughty, he would have probed in and see why he was doing it... and possibly put in a suggestion to lighten up some.
The young man looked back at Sven, noticing that the other boy was also a bit fidgety. Good, at least he was being affected by this... as bad as it was, the SFF leader didn't want to be stuck in this boat alone. And he didn't want to be the center of attention either. So, this way, he could learn some and not have to worry about losing control... speaking of which, he began to list the multiples of thirteen; he couldn't pick anything easy enough to where he didn't have to think about it, else it wouldn't serve its purpose.

Vanyel watched as Sven expressed his discomfort, ”That is an appropriate if vague answer. Harm as you put it, easily overcomes the untrained or unskilled. Whether it is from an opponent’s mind or simply a faction of your own, it is easy for someone to be influenced if they lack control.” Vanyel focused his attention on Adrian for the first time all class. ”Take for instance this student here,” He walked over to Adrian’s desk and leaned down, seizing the terrified boys chin. ”Adrian lacks control, more so than either of you, and even without trying... someone might deeply influence his mind.” He casually sent more of his power into the boy. ”without even a modicum of effort.”
This was as far as he would take it, the boy... Adrian was reacting in predictable if exaggerated ways. His face was flushed, he was squirming under Vanyel’s gaze, and without looking he knew that there was more than one physical reaction. ”Now... he is unaware of what is going on aside from overpowering attraction. He has less control, and therefore... is vulnerable. I could make him do anything I wanted just by asking...” he sharply released his student, both physically and mentally. Then he released the rest of them. ”Now, that was a light sample of my power... the lust, inspired was designed to be noticed, designed to be known to you... the only thing I hadn’t counted on was Adrian’s complete vulnerability to my powers. Normally, I would chose my target... instil only enough attraction to gain their attention and work my way up over weeks until I got what I wanted from them... which despite what you’re thinking, generally wasn’t sex.” He moved back and sat down at his desk. ”Now, the point I am trying to make is that if I can affect your minds, if I can make you think what I want... so can someone else. And if I wouldn’t use it to influence my students, doesn’t mean someone else won’t. It is my belief that to control your abilities you must control your mind, and defending yourselves from mental onslaught is the first step to controlling you powers.”

Adrian almost swooned as his professor approached him. He was overwhelmed by the mere presence of his teacher. His silent guardian was both suspicious and jealous, the gnome that Adrian held at bay was struggling to escape from Adrian’s grasp. Still, Adrian ignored the creature and just continued to stare at the professor. It wasn’t until the man came right up to him did he have the sense to panic. He was immediately aware of all his flaws... immediately aware of his reactions to the teacher...and immediately aware that he wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
His distressed summoned a wandering sylph, the creature made its way into the room silently, not alerting Adrian to it’s presence. The boy tended to overreact to the help his friends offered him, he was foolish, but he had an affinity for the wind, his human reactions were endearing. But... his emotions now, were alarming. Fear and an overpowering sense of lust... it was un-natural to say the least. The sylph waited, hovering over Adrian’s shoulder, so that it might find what the cause was... and what it could do to end the human child’s distress.
Adrian jerked back when the teacher grabbed his chin, but it did little to ease the firm grip. He heard what the teacher was saying... and it didn’t make sense. It didn’t make sense until he put the pieces together at least. When he finally reasoned out what was going on, he was furious... furious that someone had just toyed with his emotions like that and didn’t even have the decency to do it like a normal person. Furious and ashamed that he had reacted so easily and obviously to his teachers abilities. But still, it was all held back by the emotional hold the man exorcised over him... and then it was gone. It was like a damn breaking, and all his furry and shame broke through. The first and only thing he said for a while was, “bastard!” and then the emotions became fuel for his elementals, and a beacon to summon more. Wind flooded into the classroom with sylphs as they flooded in through the open door. The ground shook in what felt like a localised earthquake as gnomes rose from the floors intent on defending their human child. Amid all this Adrian reacted to his elementals response with horror... with fear. He didn’t want them to interfere; he didn’t want them to hurt anyone! But the fear was just another beacon for his elementals to flock to. In a abstract tangent he was just relieved that undines didn’t like to travel through pipes. "they just want to protect me... His comment was almost lost to the surging of the elements around him.

While the teacher talked, Sven made a mental note.
That he talked. A lot. Like more than enough to lose your breath and find it hard to regain it quickly. Well, in his mind anyway.
Just as Sven was about to pose a question, the room began to swirl with the different elements, wind, earth, Sven hoped like hell water or fire wasn't about to burst in through the roof or door or whatever. He pushed his body up against the wall, staring at Adrian as he said they just want to protect him.
"And what exactly wants to protect you?" Sven asked.

Kyerin listened to the teacher babble, smirking a bit as he found out that it was the influence of the older man that had been affecting them, especially the one boy who had looked like he was going to wet his pants. He was a bit envious; that would be quite a fun ability to have and toy with people... not that telepathy couldn't mess with people, it was just a lot harder to coerce a person into doing something.
However, his good humor disappeared as... things began to appear. If he had to guess, the young man would have to say elementals, and they appeared to be hostile. He quickly got out of his chair, moving away from the boy and his summoned army, just to be safe. "Well, you aren't being threatened now, so can't you just tell them you're fine and they leave?"

Vanyel took Kyerin’s lead and backed away from the boy as he had his fit. Not that he was particularly scared. Or scared at all really, the amused smile on his face told his emotions. He was satisfied to sit back and watch as his student struggled to control his powers. Well, that was what this class was for, mental strength and resilience. Adrian needed a little more of both... in fact, he needed a lot more of both. But for now... he could panic a little, it served dual purposes, amusement, and reinforcement.
________________________________________
Adrian was more than a little nervous, but the input of others was not exactly helping. He turned to Kyerin, glaring at him, “No really? I hadn’t thought to try that!” the sarcasm was thick on his voice. “I just thought I would sit here contentedly as they wreak havoc on my life, just like they have for the past 15 bloody years, because I fucking enjoy these things reacting to my emotions and flipping out whenever I get even mildly upset! I just love it when they come in to save the day and ruin just about everything.” His temper was getting the best of him despite the current circumstances.
The force of the elementals was growing as more came to the call of Adrians distress. He wasn’t particularly concerned with that right now. He was just coming to terms with the fact that everyone he had met so far in this school was a complete bastard. “Why the hell do you think I’m here?! Is it because you think I enjoy being lumped in with freaks? Is it because you think I enjoy coming to a class where my teacher can fuck with my head and make me want to be his bitch, just because he wants to teach me a lesson?” He turned his attention for a moment to Vanyel... but at the moment Kyerin held more of an influence.
And so, back to Kyerin he turned, venting his anger on his fellow classmate. “No, it’s because whenever I show an emotion that isn’t joy, these guys appear from the ether and destroy things! It’s because whenever I walk past an open flame it explodes or tries to light me on fire! So I’m here, take it from me, I would love to be somewhere else, but unfortunately I don’t get that option!” as his anger built so did the force of elementals... and pretty soon they were going to look for something to vent their anger on.
