Their Secret Love {Maven}

[Nicolette]

The tone Sven used worried Matt a little and he looked over at his boyfriend with a small, concerned frown. Had he said something wrong? Or had the fact that he couldn't understand the conversation at all bothered him? It wasn't exactly something he could really speak about in English... One, the only Radiance member who knew English fluently was himself. Two, Sven knew of Radiance, therefore, it would have been easy to find out that Matt had been talking about Radiance members while speak...ing...

It clicked in his mind that he hadn't used Annemarie and Jonatan's real names... He had referred to them as Nymph and Fritz the whole time. Had Sven noticed...? He swallowed hard and looked up into his boyfriend's eyes.

"Are you alright, Sven?"

[Faye]

Lying was stupid. So was 'hiding' the truth from someone. Especially someone such as Matthew who meant so much to him. He swallowed a little and stood up from the bench he was sitting at and looked out the window, as if he was trying to find inspiration or something to help him find the words to tell Matthew what was on his mind. What would he say? He didn't want to pry into Matthew's personal business but he was just curious...

"I do wish I knew what was being said haha, but that can't be helped, that and German makes people sound angry... No offense or anything..." Now he was just rambling on and steering away from the point. He looked Matthew in the eyes and sighed, "Do you know Radiance or something? I heard their names and by the way you were talking it didn't seem right for them to be in there on casual conversation about a band..." His face was covered in confusion.

[Nicolette]

Damn.

Matt dropped his gaze from Sven, biting his lip a little. He was so stupid... He should have never gotten close to Sven. He shouldn't grow close to anyone. There was a very important reason as to why he couldn't let people know of his true identity. Aunt Hillary had specifically told him to be very careful and keep Katherine a secret. He was never told why, but if his own flesh and blood wanted him to keep his real self a secret, it had to be important.

"...Just some drama between friends..." he said softly. "And the fact that a friend might die if she doesn't make it out of critical condition..."

He still couldn't bring himself to look at Sven.

"We all have our secrets. Isn't that why we come to the T'zenshin Institute...?"

[Faye]

He took that as a 'Yes Sven, I know Radiance but I'm not going to go into it, you can't know' kind of answer. He respected Matthew's privacy and wasn't going to pry too much into it but if there was something that Matthew said that was just too confusing and completely far fetched he was going to say something. Right now, it just seemed to just be a panic about whether or not someone is going to survive. His heart dropped at Matthew's reference to why they came to the school.

Their secrets...

Yes, everyone had secrets.

Especially Sven.

The main reason why Sven was respecting Matthew's privacy so much was because he had his own. "I understand... We do... all have our.. secrets," He said quietly and almost to himself. "I hope she's okay," He said, his voice picking up a bit on volume to steer Matthew away from his weird mood just then. He placed a hand on Matthew's shoulder and ran down to his hand to hold it gently.

[Nicolette]

Matt could tell he had hit a nerve in Sven that caused him to become quiet and stop questioning him. It seemed that the secrets Sven had were also very important. He was not going to pry, though, because he wasn't willing to give up information as a fair trade.

So the subject dropped.

Matt shut his eyes and gripped Sven's hand, moving his head forward to rest his forehead against Sven's upper stomach/lower chest. He shook a little as he thought of Annemarie. He could remember the old late night conversations they used to have, talking about how Katherine was happy with Nickolaus and Annemarie wanted nothing more than to tell Jonatan how she felt. Katherine would always urge Annemarie to tell him, but the older girl would always chicken out.

If Annemarie didn't make it out alive... Then Matt would make it his mission to tell Jonatan that Annemarie loved him with all of her heart.

"If she dies... I... I don't know what I'll do..." he whispered softly, trying not to cry.

[Faye]

What if Matthew told him that he loved him? What if it got to that point? What would he say to him? He couldn't say 'I love you too' and mean it, he would turn into a freakin' cat until he got over it! Which would probably never happen because for him to turn into a cat, it would have to be true love and it being Sven's first time relationship, it probably would be. He wanted to just clear it from his mind, to just forget about it and enjoy himself...

Pfft. Obviously not going to happen.

He did push it away for the time being, though, as Matthew was upset and needed someone to be there for him. He ran his fingers through Matthew's dark hair, twirling the locks around his fingers as he leaned against his lower chest area. "Is there anything I can do to help you feel better...?" He asked, some colour coming back to his voice and he sounded very concerned for Matthew, mostly. He would make sure Matthew smiled that amazing smile again.

[Nicolette]

Matt wouldn't be able to focus during school that day; He knew that much for sure. He leaned into his boyfriend's hold, the feeling of the man's slender fingers run through his short, dyed locks. He gripped Sven's hand for a moment and took in a deep breath, letting it out shakily.

"C...Can you somehow excuse me for the rest of the day...? I have a feeling I'm going to cry... and I can't cry with my contacts in, or in front of other people... But this stress is going to pile up unless I just go lie down and cry or something..."

He looked up at Sven, his eyes filling with tears and pleading. "Please..."

[Faye]

Sven felt his heart drop even more, Matthew was so upset and there was obviously nothing he could do through comforting him other than using his authority to excuse him for the rest of the day. Which he would do without a second though, plus, he would let Matthew have the space as well, he probably needed to think things through. Maybe he could go talk to Nicolette after school or go down town to get a few things for them to eat or just for the sake of buying them.

He smiled and pressed his lips gently against Matthew's forehead, "Of course you can, I'll tell Nicolette that you needed the time out and have you excused for the day without hassle, okay?" He said softly, picking up his back pack and placing it over his shoulder.

Then the bell rang for fourth period.

Ah...

"Well, unless you want me to walk you back to our dorm, I'll see you... later?"

[Nicolette]

Matt was glad his boyfriend was able to do this for him. He felt bad that he was able to do this so easily, but he really needed to be in the safety of his bedroom... He gripped Sven's sleeve a little and looked up at him, his eyes looking as if he wanted to ask something. He bit his lip gently before opening his mouth.

"C-could you walk me back...? At least to the lobby...?" He didn't want to go alone for a few reasons. One, security might think he was ditching, so it would be easier to have a Council member with him. And two, he wanted Sven to be by his side for just a few minutes more.

[Faye]

A smile slipped onto his lips, he was happy that Matthew would want to spend more time with him and to be honest, he didn't want to leave Matthew alone or leave his side at all but Matthew needed the space and needed time to think. He gently pecked his lips, "Of course I will~" He also assumed Matthew wanted the security so he didn't have any trouble trying to get back to his dorm. Council members did not ditch class and their word basically explained everything.

"C'mon then," He said, leading Matthew out into the corridor where many students were rushing around to their next class.

[Nicolette]

Matt managed to get a small smile to slip on his lips. He walked by his boyfriend's side in the halls of the school. He kept his eyes on the floor and kept his distance from Sven, though, acting as if they were just two acquaintances. Guys on their floor would know they were roommates, but they didn't know of the things that happened behind closed doors.

They made their way out of the school and walked in silence down the path toward the dormitories. Security spoke briefly with Sven before the two were allowed to continue on their way to the boys' dormitories. It wasn't long before they reached the deserted lobby (save for a shop keeper in the little lobby-shop and a few dorm workers who worked sort of like hotel workers at hotels).

When no one was looking, Matt leaned up and gently kissed Sven's lips, taking a step back after he did so.

"I'll... see you later... kay?"

[Faye]

They kept a safe, friend like distance between each other as they walked through the busy school halls and out into the fresh air of the outdoors where they made their way back to the lobby of the dormitories. The security guard had pulled them up but Sven had managed to talk his way through everything, saying that Matthew wasn't feeling too good and was very upset so he needed time alone to settle down. Education plus emotional times didn't mix very well so the guard let them through.

Now that they were alone, their distance got closer and more clear that there was something more going on between them than just friendship or casual room mates. They reached the part where Sven would have to part ways with Matthew for the time being. He gasped a little as Matthew leaned up to kiss him, he managed to return it just in time before Matthew pulled away. "Yeah, you take it easy... I'll see you later," He said with a smile, giving him a brief, warm hug and a gentle kiss on the cheek before he made his way back to the school grounds to carry on with his school day and see Nicolette to tell her about Matthew not being in class.

Matt watched his boyfriend leave for the school before he walked down the hall to the elevator. He took it up to the second floor, taking slow, deep breaths in order to calm himself. He walked down the hall to their dormitory room and reached into his backpack to grab his keys. Unlocking the door, he went inside and locked the door behind him before throwing his backpack on the floor and running to his room.

With his bedroom door locked, he stripped himself of his uniform jacket, throwing it to the floor. He untucked the undershirt and started fussing with the buttons as he walked to his desk. He was able to get the last button unbuttoned and the shirt thrown to the floor before he reached for the case for his glasses, grabbing the case for his contacts while he was at it. He removed his contacts and placed them in their place, blinking a few times as tears started spilling, and just turned away to walk to his bed, leaving his glasses forgotten behind.

He managed to throw his pants off to the floor as he collapsed on his bed, dressed in boxers and the tight tank top that hid his true form. His chest began to heave a little as he let out a choked sob. He reached up and grabbed the velcro of the binder, pulling it loose with all of his might. Once it finally came loose, he threw it to the floor as his chest took form.

Katherine let out another sob as she crawled under her blankets, hugging herself tight. She was just a broken little girl with a faulty memory. Annemarie could die at any given moment. Nickolaus had disappeared without word. She still loved him, but she knew she couldnt' keep going on with a missing boyfriend... Sven made her happy, even if she wasn't being absolutely truthful with him.

So many secrets...

Katherine cried until she fell asleep, unable to keep her eyes open any longer. With her door locked, she would be able to just sleep and not worry about anything... She would get dressed when she woke up. For now, she just wanted to be her...
