About The Plot
The T'zenshin Institute is a special high school created specially for gifted students. Gifted does vary by definition, and all are accepted, whether you have a photographic memory, or you have had a sex change operation and want to start anew, or you are a spellcaster, a werewolf, or other sort of magical being. It's a school where any gifted student can join and learn with no fear of having their secrets revealed; all is confidential, and everyone there knows that everyone else is special.
About the RPG
The T'zenshin Institute is an intermediate/advanced role playing site. Please bring forth effort in your posts and try to work with the plot line. Feel and understand the rivalry that the Student Council and the Student Freedom Force feel. But before any of this, please do remember to have fun because that is the true reason for role playing!

APPEARANCE DETAILS
Appearance: Kyerin stands at six feet tall, though his slim form makes him seem like a beanpole. His soft brown eyes are visible through the filter of glass due to his prescription lens, though they seem to reflect the light when seen without his glasses on. His short black hair doesn't seem to be organized or styled, yet somehow doesn't seem very messy. He has a slight tan, noticably on his forearms due to his tennis playing, which also explains the msucles he's developed in his legs and right arm. The boy's face is usually adorned by a soft smile, eyes closed in subtle amusement of the world... except when his glasses are off; then the smile is still there, but much harsher and sharper, one that says that you might want to watch out for a knife in the back. Clothing Style: Kyerin tends to keep it formal, wearing polos during the spring and summer, and donning button up long sleeve shirts when it gets colder. His bottomwear varies from khaki shorts, wind shorts when he plays tennis, to jeans and slacks, along with his footwear. Most of his attire are of dull colors, such as grays, blacks, browns, and tans. His frameless glasses are perched on his nose almost every hour of the day, except when he loses his cool... which makes it a good sign that he should be avoided then.
Special Accessories: Kyerin wears a light blue armband around his upper left arm. Sewn into the material in white thread are the letters "SFF".
PERSONALLY
Over-all Personality: Kyerin is a laid back individual, quite calm and collected; he's one of those friends that you want to have, and need, just because you can count on him to give it to you straight, and to be honest about it. He prefers to be open and straightforward, finding things that are complicated or hidden to be quite a nuisance. However, that isn't to say he's against secrets; he will answer questions honestly, and sometimes give half truths, if it's about a subject that he wishes to withold information for the greater good, such as his ability back in regular schools, considering that it would have led to him being an outcast and alone.
He also avoids being judgemental, knowing that first impressions aren't everything; he gives plenty of chances for someone to get on his good side. However, to get on his bad side, he works on a three strike rule: three strikes, and you're out. However, due to his pleasant, calm demeanor, rarely anyone gets on his bad side... besides, there are the rumors about what happens if you do...
Kyerin also has been diagnosed with minor schizophrenia, which is usually noted by him removing his glasses. His demeanor is still quite cool, but more like ice cold. He's less cooperative and more manipulative in this state of mind, using what relationships he's built up to get what he wants, or to more commonly spite those who have gotten on his bad side. He is aware of this when he is normal; he just chooses not to discuss it with others.

Fears: Being powerless- Kyerin doesn't like to be stuck in a position where he can't do anything; most of the time, he can at least figure out something to do. If he is unable to do anything, well then... he can't really handle it.
Habits: -Kyerin has a tendency to end up late to everything, leading to a commonplace joke with him that all of his clocks are five minutes slow. -He also is a bit of a neat freak, cleaning up any litter that comes across his path, making the world a neater place, one piece of trash at a time.

BACKGROUND
History: Kyerin Saito was born to a businessman and his housewife on January 28 of the year 1995 in Kyoto, Japan. His father, Ryuhei Saito, worked at middle management for a local branch of an international shipping company, and his mother, Mai Saito, just took care of the cooking, cleaning, and other housework, which included taking care of the baby boy after he was born, making sure that he was safe, and grew up just fine.
When the boy was five years old, three major events happened in his life. The first, and biggest for his family, was that his mother became pregnant again, this time having a daughter which they lovingly named Ayla, giving the young boy someone to take care of, and be a role model for. The second major event was his enrollment in a public school, so that he could continue learning... and learn he did, soaking up the knowledge and facts with remarkable ease, leading to his teacher being quite impressed with, what she called, the little genius.
However, the most important one, at least for him, developed slowly as it became apparent. After being enrolled in school, the young tyke noticed that he began to feel things. They weren't words or anything tangible; it was more like he could tell how someone was feeling before they said anything (considering his age, his body language reading was not well developed). However, at this age, it didn't quite do much for him, so he just figured that that was part of growing up, and didn't worry about where it came from.
As Kyerin grew older, it became easier and easier for him to pick up on these emotions. However, when they were obvious to him at points, it seemed like other people were oblivious to them, doing things in situations when it was obviously foolish. Curious, he asked his parents about them... and was surprised when they said that no one could do that, besides him. Considering that there was really no harm in what he could do, they told him to keep them informed if there were any changes, and to not tell anyone else about it.
So young Kyerin grew into slightly older Kyerin, spending time with his younger sister, and working hard in school. Deciding that he needed to take up a sport, his father introduced him to several different activities, but the young boy settled on tennis, liking the fact that he could develop and play alone, yet still directly compete against someone else. As he promised his parents, he kept them up to date in his abilities, especially when he was able to start hearing specific voices of people, mainly what was at the top of their mind. However, instead of working on how to hear more, he mainly taught himself how not to hear them, giving himself control over who he heard when, instead of having everyone's thoughts shouting at him all day.
The age of ten was the next important year for the boy for two major reasons. The first was an obvious physical reason; his eyesight had begun to deteriorate, resulting in his parents purchasing him glasses. That added to his "smart guy" appearance, and were never really a hassle, considering that his vision was not too poor; without the glasses, he could still distinguish people and shapes, just losing the sharp details without his lens.
The second was that his sister, who had just started school, was being picked on by a rather nasty young boy. However, despite being young, the boy knew when and where to do it so that he didn't get in trouble. Kyerin, however, heard about it from his sister and his sister's friends. In the next few days, the boy found that things seemed to be out to get him: his lunch would end up not having food, there was gum stuck to his chair causing him to get stuck to it, and even on one occassion, he was accidentally soaked in beef juice, and was chased home by dogs. Ayla mentioned to the boy that it was karma, something her brother had told her, and the boy apologized, hoping that would make the bad things stopped. And magically, they did. However, no one knows how that stuff happened... or if they know who did it, they weren't saying.
After this little incident, throughout junior high, Kyerin was treated nicely and with some respect, considering what could happen. However, as with all schools, there were bullies, including those that like to mess with glasses-wearing smart guys. During his seventh year in school, a group of self-proclaimed tough guys came by during lunch, and smashed his face into his lunch, resulting in them chortling, and the rest of the students there staring in shock. Kyerin sat up, removed his glasses as he cleaned up his face and looked up at the bully, remarking about how it would only be fair if the larger boy had his own face pressed against his lunch. Much to the surprise of everyone there, the bully reached up, grabbed the back of his head, and proceeded to slam his face into his own lunch. This seemed to further the rumors about not messing with Kyerin, while the young psychic learned one valuable lesson: a passage where messages can be heard can also be used to send messages.
Considering this very obvious incident, and the boy's later admittance to his involvement in the scenario, Ryuhei and Mai enrolled their son into the T'zenshin Institute, considering that he was quite gifted, both with his abililties and with his intellect. It would also hopefully give the boy a place to create friendships with others who had their own special gifts, considering that there wasn't really anyone else at the school who was on equal terms with him intellect-wise.
So, starting his eighth year in school, Kyerin made his home at the T'zenshin Institute, quickly being recognized with his abilities, and in turn recognizing others, feeling more at home than the set social hierarchy back in public school. He eventually joined the Student Freedom Force, feeling that there really shouldn't be an organizaiton that puts some students above others. However, most of the actions that occurred were sabotage and mischief, with no real clear goal. With the head of the SFF graduating last year, Kyerin put his hat in the ring to become the official unofficial leader of the organization, and succeeded in being elected. Now, he plans to get back to their roots, making things equal for the common student, and maybe some friendly competition with the Student Council just to keep them on their toes...
This will be an interesting year indeed.
Secrets: Kyerin suffers from minor schizophrenia, physically noted by the presence of his glasses across the bridge of his nose, though it doesn't always come out when he lacks his glasses, such as when he sleeps or showers. However, in the daytime, when he removes his glasses, he becomes less charming, and more coniving, a real threat and villain to others, using prior trust to get what he wants, not matter the cost to other people. However, despite a change in his tone and the underlying consequences of his suggested plans, there isn't really a difference between him like this and his regular self.
Gift: Kyerin's gift would be described in one word as telepathy, though there is more to it. On a base level, he can detect the foremost thoughts of a nearby person, though he can pick up mental energy up to a hundred yards away. At a closer range, he can implant general thoughts into a person's mind, causing a minor alteration in thought pattern and behavior. With a continued focus and contact with another person with a mental gift, Kyerin could mentally communicate with that person.
